I like my fist-pumpers southern-fried, heavy on the guitar, and smothered in awesome. Here are some of the best fist-pumpers I've heard in 08 ... so far. Please [...]
Their first entry begins like this: *I'm always conflicted before a long tour. While most of me is overjoyed at the prospect of trundling across America with my three closest friends, playing music nightly, and clogging our arteries with all manner of regional grease, there's that other part that hyperventilates over the loose ends and responsibilities I'm leaving behind...* Read the rest here. In the last year, since Radiohead released In Rainbows on a Pay What You Want scheme, several artists have followed suit. Now it seems, one of thte music bizs most important magainzes is doing the same. Paste Magazine is offering 11 issues on a PWYW method , available for a short time only. Unlike Radiohead, they don't intend on reducing the quality so you get the same magazine and the same copy of the album that normal subscribers like us paid full fare for. I highly suggest checking this out & getting your hands on a subscription. [...]
In June when M.I.A announced onstage at Bonnaroo that this would be her last performance, the rumor-mill and blogosphere starting churning in a worrisome fashion -especially once video of the performance (below) confirmed that M.I.A did in fact utter those words. Although many people (myself included) have been hoping that this was just her fatigue speaking (she cancelled the rest of her tour just prior to the announcement) and that in a few months time she'd get the itch again, it appears this will not be the case. However, a recent article from [...]

"Religion? Eh." Conor Oberst talks with Paste Magazine about religion and politics. You know, two topics upon which everyone can agree : Not that I'm an expert on all these religions, but what I know about all the other major religions kind of all just fall a little flat in their—I guess, just in their kind of narrowmindedness. I feel like there's something much more basic than what all these people are worried about. I find it really shocking that two groups that are, [...]
THE CHALLENGE: You have 25 songs to create the soundtrack to your New Year's Eve party, but you may only choose from songs released in 2007. With the many year-end lists fresh in mind, what you will you choose? Will you grind it out to beats courtesy of Timbaland? Will you squeeze into your skinniest jeans and rock awkward to bands with names referencing indigenous North American wildlife? Will you put Nickel Back and Daughtry on repeat and fist pump into the new year? Or, will you drink champagne in silence because everything [...]
You Should Know Decatur, GA-based PASTE Magazine has become one of my favorite publications. It's filled with quality content revolving around the important things in life: independent music and films. Each issue also includes a CD-sampler jam-packed with new music. The magazine has only been around for 6 years, but it has received burgeoning readership, and managed to crack the top 25 (#21, to be exact) on the Chicago Tribune's list of the "50 Best Magazines." In an exciting marketing ploy, PASTE is [...]
Play it: 100 Best Living Songwriters ( Paste Magazine ) Play it: Wish You Were Here (in memorial) Paste Magazine just published their special collectors issue featuring the 100 Best Living Songwriters list. White, Jack White
For those of us who have been anxiously awaiting the release of the new Bond flick Quantum of Solace solely to hear the Jack White/Alicia Keys duet during the opening credits, it appears that the future is now. A new Coke-Zero advert (below) is already using the instrumental from the track, and according to a recent Paste Magazine article Jack White is none too pleased. Also like them we are wondering how he could get so angry when he himself has worked with Coke so amicably in the past (below the below). *Update: Apparently you can [...]
