It's mid-April which means mixtape time, we did this one last week as we've got something special in the pipeline for next month. Anyway we cover everything that's worth your attention from March's posts. Guess the entire tracklist and we'll send you some HBF troll stickers.

This Saturday, Patchwork and Turban (the guys who brought you the now infamous secret Skrillex show back in February) are teaming up to bring you an epic night headlined by Colorado-based DJ and producer Jansten . Jansten is an incredibly strong presence in the EDM scene because of his unique sounds influenced by a variety of genres such as jazz, blues, funk, hip hop, and more. He has collaborated with some big names like Propatingz , and most recently with Bassnectar on his track ' What (feat. Jansten) ' on ' VAVA [...]
Futurecop is back with a new single and a huge pack of remixes to be released on April 24th. "Starworshipper" EP comes with official reworks from from Lenno, Mitch Murder, Jowie Schulner and Out There. If you're following us since the very beginning, you already know I'm a huge fan of mitch murder's music. Luckily [...]

It's old news for some but I figured I would just post about it again for those who haven't heard. I was lucky enough to see Daft Punk's Alive concert and this time around it will be Tron based. From what people have been saying by the watercooler is that Daft Punk is going to be releasing a new album some time soon including that "one" track from the club scene we all love but can't find. We will start [...]
We've been hearing rumours that one half of Belgium disco duo Mustang had started a new moniker, and it's true, Renaud Deru has indeed started a new solo guise ATTAR, but, thankfully we're almost certain that Mustang will still make music. ATTAR's first piece of output is for the latest Discotexas release from melodic synth pop group Appaloosa, and comes with a load remixes from Kamp!, Douze and Mirror People. ATTAR's remix is less shiny-happy-disco and more house meets the 802s synth-pop - it's full of lovely analogue basslines, cushion-soft keys, big kicks and looped vocals. [...]

New video for Appaloosa 's Patchwork .

Appaloosa nos presenta el video de su nuevo sencillo "Patchwork" que sacarán en el label portugués Discotexas. Hipnotizantemente bailable!

New Virgili Jubero -directed video from Cat Power's favorite group , Paris/London duo Appaloosa . The best description we've heard of these two remains " the romantic Human League fronted by Nico covering Stereolab ," and throbbing new electro-pop/disco jam " Patchwork " backs that up, with the real draw here being Anne Laure Keib 's uniquely haunting, detached, very French vocals. The Patchwork single is out Friday on Portugal's Discotexas label; fans of Glass Candy should love: [...]
I've taken to calling my little two door Hyundai rust bucket 'Babe' whenever I press down upon the accelerator. A swift pat on the dash, a sharp intake of breath and a decent gap between oncoming vehicles and we're sweet. Pray for us both, won't you? Totally unrelated track that I stumbled across again the other day and thought was worth a repost: Spaceships - Patchwork Filed under: Leftovers Tagged: my car needs [...]

Well, I usually don't do this, but I think a mega-post is appropriate for this one. The producer that I share with y'all today is named Patchwork . To be honest, I know little to nothing about this guy except for three things 1.) He sometimes goes by the name of Mr. Pat 2.) He's from Melbourne, Australia and 3.) He makes some of the dirtiest edits I've heard all year. I don't know how someone like him hasn't popped up on my radar yet, but I'm pretty glad that I know about him now. Weaving the old with the [...]

Words: Donwill The Converse Jack Purcell is a pretty specific shoe. While its basic counterpart, The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Low, is a general release worn by many, the Jack Purcell model tows the line between casual and upscale in a very strange way. It seems like the type of shoe you'd spot more on a driving range than driving down the block and this Patchwork model drives that point home. Don't expect to see this colorway however as there are only 12 pair in existence and they all released [...]
When Leonard Cohen speaks, people that know anything about music listen. So it's little wonder that Canadian siren NEeMA is on a sharp ascent. Cohen recently had this to say about the Montreal-based, Lebanese songstress: "in the midst of all the static, a voice of true feeling arises - a rare event!" Hard to argue [...]

One of the high-point of last years Perch Patchwork LP, Living Decorations showcases all that is great about Chicago four-piece Maps & Atlases . The summery vocals of frontman Dave Davison, that somehow come across as both urgent and laid-back in equal measure, may do there best to throw you off the scent but there is actually a hell of a lot more going on here than you initially realise. The rythmic afro-beat percussion and prickly guitar of the first thirty seconds brings to mind a more textured Vampire Weekend, before further layers of guitar and vocals are added [...]

Chicago rockers Maps and Atlases finally released their much-anticipated LP Perch Patchwork in October of last year. A truly ambitious record, it marked the point where the band expanded their sound from their math-rock leanings into full-blown pop territory. 'Living Decorations' - one of the albums strongest moments - will be released as a single in the UK on February 14th. To celebrate it's release GoldFlakePaint has two signed copies of Perch Patchwork - on 123 vinyl no less - to [...]

Maps & Atlases are awesome. Their new album 'Perch Patchwork' is awesome. As a result, GFP made it their mission to muse on music and cold remedies with singer Dave... GFP: Hi M&A! How's it all going? M&A: It's going pretty good thanks, it's the last day of the European shows and it's been really fun. Dublin was one of the places I was most looking forward to coming to because I'd never been here before, we've been doing some running around, we went to Trinity College! [...]

Chicago rockers Maps & Atlases release their debut LP alb um Perch Patchwork via One Little Indian on October 4th. We've heard it and it's pretty safe to say its well worth the wait - it also marks FatCat Records 100th release. The four-piece recently announced a headline UK tour to commence in October where they will be supported by GFP fave's Tall Ships. You can catch the band at the following dates; 8th BRIGHTON, The Hope 9th LEEDS, Brudenell Social Club 10th GLASGOW, Captains Rest 11th MANCHESTER, Deaf Institute 12th [...]

What better way to kick off your Friday than with a selection of the best tracks from the It All Started archives? If I'm honest though, this is really just an excuse for me to repost all those tracks that I love and that you may have missed the first time round. It's high quality stuff, and there'll be more this time next week. Enjoy! Alter Ego - Jean-Louis Aubert Spaceships - Patchwork [...]

A few years ago I use to be vinyl fiend, back when the Sound Library was on Avenue A I would spend entire days crate-digging and hogging up the listening station till I get kicked out. The way vinyl sounds is second to none and lightyears away from the crappy Mp3 format which unfortunately dominates the listening experience these days. I've been on an anti-MP3 campaign for sometime now and have started focusing on my vinyl collection again. My campaign led me to Rock & Soul yesterday where I found a 7inch of Hawa's D.A.N.C.E. cover, fresh. Producer Patchwork [...]
