Analogue magazine celebrates it's Birthday tonight in Bodytonic's new Twisted Pepper venue on abbey street. As well as Mr. Jones' regular Thursday mix of bassline/baltimore/electro downstairs courtesy of Mark Lam and Scutchie , the stage will play host to some eclectic & no doubt excellent performances. Headlining will be Spilly Walker , a live set from David & Rob Kitt's electro venture. Also on the night will be a performance from egoeccentric favorite Patrick Kelleher , this time playing with the illustrious Come Back Johnnys . Finally [...]

Before I relate my experiences of sleep paralysis, I have a shameful food-related confession to make. I love vinegar so much that I err, drink it on its own sometimes. Sometimes, when I'm alone, either in my flat or at home, I go for the vinegar and pour a little, just a little maaan, out on a spoon to sip. Last night, I had a vicious vinegar craving and went straight for the balsamic and poured it into a teaspoon, smack addict style, for a quick furtive hit. Halfway through drizzling the sweet black honey into the spoon, I was [...]

Ο Patrick Kelleher είναι ένας 24χρονος μουσικός από το Δουβλίνο. Έχει κυκλοφορήσει δύο μόλις EPs και το Coat To Wear που παρουσιάζουμε σήμερα ανήκει στο You Look Cold EP . "His music varies from brooding, tense electronica to jaunty acoustica to 8-bit dance-floor ditties, but always with a twist of something ethereal or idiosyncratic" έγραψε κάποιος, ο ίδιος ο Patrick περιγράφει τη μουσική του μ'ένα ξερό pop , και πολύ τον συμπάθησα γι'αυτό.. Ο παραπάνω κάποιος ανέφερε στην περιγραφή του και το όνομα Owen Pallett οπότε τον συμπάθησα κι αυτόν.. Το απόκοσμο [...]

...so you will never have to. Ever. Why? Because it was lurking in my fridge and I was curious. You microwave it. According to the package it goes from 0 to tasty in 70 seconds. More like 0 to toilet bowl. I got 2nd degree burns on my fingers trying to hold the thing. It both tasted and had the texture of a sponge scooped out of a communal bath-tub in a nursing home. (I guess, seeing as I don't normally dunk for edible surprises in old fogey's bilge water). Someone in my family bought this thing. [...]

In one of the more outlandish gig experiences of my life, last night I found myself sitting in an overgrown back garden in Deansgrange with a bunch of music fans, watching a baritone fortysomething dude with an acoustic guitar strum a few tunes. So far, so hippyish. The thing was, the fortysomething dude was all round indie hero Calvin Johnson, founder of K Records/Beat Happening/Half of the Halo Benders/Narcotic Dub/etc/etc/etc. The gig went down in a place called Hideaway House. Hideaway House is occupied by an exceptionally pleasant young lad called Dylan, who, from what I can gleam, [...]
