Lo and behold the starwanderers as they continue their ramblings inside a box of black space lined with gold thread, chronological boundary for the holy year that was 2010. Here we report the risky explorations that over this period tore asunder the walls of reality to fetch from the amorphous manifold beyond nutritious morsels of quantum pop which which we watered our garden and fed the livestock. Such were the strange flowers that grew thereafter, and the ancient tongues with which our beasts proclaimed. Ariel Pink and his Haunted Graffiti: Before Today. News at 11. Things have been pretty quiet in the 20 Jazz Funk Dates office since we launched a few weeks ago. The phone rings never with the silence of a firing squad's post-coital epitaph, and our inbox is deader than the crims they just shot. What's wrong with people these days? Is everyone shacked up already? Were [...]

WONDER WHEEL - After Dark from Moduli TV on Vimeo . Give Paul Rosales credit for attempting to make his sun-damaged psych-pop as dark as possible. He and the 5 02 Clock Shadowboxers are fixing to have a noir-off. I'm not sure what that entails, but I imagine it involves whiskey sours, fedoras, and a room reserved at Musso & Frank.

I was going to write about Paul A. Rosales two weeks ago, but I never got around to it. Now I am being sent press releases about how he "fits in nicely to the Altered Zones " world. I am not sure what that means for me. Does this mean that I also fit nicely in the Altered Zones world? Am I eligible to win a free cassette player hand-crafted by Ariel Pink, painted with dancing unicorns and butthouse blondies? What about a beard trimmer endorsed by Avey Tare? Or a Sleep Over with Sleep Over [...]

I logged on with the intention of posting some sweet praise for Paul Rosales and his new tape, Wonder Wheel I , but that'll have to wait for when I'm back in New York and have an adequate amount of time to thread my time in Los Angeles, meeting and playing a show with Paul, jamming on some Wonder Wheel for the past eight months, hearing Aria's recent railcars remix, and then now listening to Wonder Wheel I for my first time. Go cop that shit right here ! [...]

(c) Katie Tilford NFOP darling Aria Jalali alias railcars has remixed one of the tunes of our favourite album this week, Paul A Rosales ' Wonder Wheel I . Changed Faster is now even more restless and mind altering after Jalali's cautious yet distinct re-working - an amazing collaboration of two of California's finest. Paul A Rosales - Changed Faster (railcars 'machine heart' mix)

Aria Jalali a.k.a. railcars skickade över en helt ny remix han gjort på Paul A. Rosales låt Changed faster från den senares nya album Wonder Wheel I , och jag är totalsåld på både remixen och hela albumet. With so many albums coming out today - July 27th - we had to handpick a few 'under the radar' favorites including Young Galaxy, Miniature Tigers, Enlou, Still Flyin' and more... More like it: NEW RELEASE TUESDAY, APRIL 27th NEW MUSIC TUESDAY: May 25th, 2010 NEW MUSIC TUESDAY: JUNE 22, 2010

Though Paul Andrew Rosales from Orange City, California, has a decent myspace , it has turned out that it's still actually not very easy to track him down, as he also has another one . So when I first tried to reach him after posting his wonderful Crimes on my first All My Friends mix two weeks ago, I obviously caught the wrong one, though www.myspace.com/paul_a_rosales appeared to be right on such a blatant level. In any case, long story cut short, it needed Paul's intervention to get in touch with me, [...]

So, it's Wednesday again, and here's yet another change of concept: Four weeks ago, I introduced my dear readers to The Fallout , a series of mixes that were intended to cover bands/songs that I didn't post about, for whatever reason. Now, while I'm gonna stick with that basic idea, I thought if NFOP features tunes that other beloved blogs posted before, then I might as well mention them and pay tribute to the amazing discoveries these devoted folks make every day. Because above anything else, I'm still simply - a fan. So, the tracks you find below have [...]

L.A.-based Paul A Rosales makes cool lo-fi pop in the vein of Ariel Pink and has collaborated with R. Stevie Moore and produced Pearl Harbor tracks. Enough with the references, download 'Crimes' below and see for yourselves. The Crimes 73 is out now via Care in the Community Recordings . Rosales also made a neat video for the song.
