The Pernice Brothers , who have been slowly previewing more and more tracks off their upcoming album Live a Little (due out in October), have three new tracks to stream on their website. One thing you can count on about the Pernice Brothers is something that is consistant. Listen to this track "Somerville" and see for yourself. For the unfamiliar, an album I highly recommend everyone check out is 2003's Yours, Mine & Ours which was one of my favorite [...]

Only one week to go, and I'll be off to Eastern Canada for a two-week holiday. I'll begin my trip in Toronto and will make my way slowly up along the Saint Lawrence River. Of course I'm not too keen on listening to crappy radio stations (I'm pretty sure they exist over in Canada, too!), so I'm putting together some CDs for the drive. This one here's called One For The Road : 1. Midlake - Roscoe 2. Funky Nashville [...]

Let's see if this works... I'll start this first part of FTL with a couple of CDs that I've listened over this weekend. Although they might have been reviewed elsewhere before, they are still good musical references. AMBULANCE LTD - LP (2004) - (****/5 stars) On their debut album, the keyword is "mixing influences". One can hear a number of stylistic influences from the Beatles to the Smiths. And hey, there is nothing wrong with [...]

Good news! You can now download for free a new song from the not released for far too long Pernice Brothers album along with a video to go with it. Follow the link at the bottom of this. This album reunites Mr. Pernice with the producer of the classic "Overcome By Happiness" and if its half as good as that album I can't wait. Here's what my at the time not my wife said about that album back
The Pernice Brothers have posted a song from their forthcoming Live a Little album (due in October) called "Somerville", as well as a video to boot. They make you sign up for their email newsletter to listen, but they promise not to send too many emails. If they do, don't blame me. :^) You could call this a drastic departure from the band's sound, but you'd be an idiot.
Pernice Brothers have posted a new track from their upcoming release Live A Little to be released fall 2006. It's exactly what you'd expect from one of our finest songwriters: pitch perfect guitar pop delivered with Joe's trademark laconic vocal style. Head to the website and put your name on their mailing list so I don't have to be solely responsible for getting such wonderful sounds into your ears. Somerville Also check out the video for the same song [...]
We love The Pernice Brothers' breezy indie-pop so naturally we're excited to hear that their new album, Live A Little, is due out in the Fall. The Brothers are the Fleetwood Mac of indie rock, 'cept they don't have a girl in the band and Joe Pernice himself may be the Todd Rundgren of indie-pop. And I mean that with the deepest respect. We also love the Brothers cause their drummer is a friend and really nice guy plus he's really tall. Hey Pat! Here's a new song: [...]
