Chicago melodic indie rockers Pet Lions had their record release show for their new LP, Houses (read our review here ), at Lincoln Hall last month. Their performance of the Houses track "To The Coast" was filmed for what the band are calling their " first official live video ." If you missed Pet Lions fill Lincoln Hall with their twinkling grooves last Saturday night, Giant System has what you need to make things right. The dreamy Chicago quartet recorded a performance of its song "Slow Wave" from its latest album Houses for Giant System at Kildare Studios. The crisp video and panning shots pair nicely with the sway-inducing rhythms and echoy melodies produced by the band members.
This may not be the first time around the musical block for Chicago power-pop rockers Pet Lions , but their latest album Houses sees the band flirt with a new atmospheric sound that borders on "chill wave," while still maintaining their old identity. Pet Lions is the child The Strokes and Phoenix should always have had. Houses showcases the best elements of the aforementioned rockers, danceable groovy pop with plenty of reverb but devoid of all that rough garage rock crunch. What we have here [...]
