The Devil Makes Three frontman Pete Bernhard's Straight Line [Album Review] The Devil Makes Three frontman, Pete Bernhard, steps away from Devil Makes Three with a solo album and more traditional setup, including drums. It does feel a little weird to hear his voice with a back beat, but these were songs that Pete felt didn't fit the dynamic of DM3. Like DM3, the album is mish-mash of musical styles. Unlike DM3, it's not nearly as frantic and you lose those moments where you feel out of breath after listening. Like, DM3 the lyrics are a centerpiece of the album.
