Emotions are mixed as they always are when leaving one place behind to face something completely unknown but I'm a major advocate for change and more-so pro anti-regrets

As of late our friends over at Antiquiet have be giving us goodie after goodie in relation to the Live From Nowhere Near You compilation which features a huge number of talented artists. We've previously got to hear an unheard track from Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse titled " Dead End Job at the Dead Letter Office " along with a few others. Now we have a track from Two members of Pearl Jam, Stone Gossard & Mike McCready along with the help of Pete Droge & Cole Peterson of Sweetwater then [...]

Several months ago, one of the cable stations burned an weekend showing episodes of The Twilight Zone . I, not wanting to appear ungrateful, burned an entire weekend watching episodes of The Twilight Zone . This continued a tradition dating back to college when - fall semester, sophomore year - I had to skip all classes that interfered with me watching Rod Serling's visionary show on WGN (it aired weekedays, noon 'til one o'clock). One of the classes that I often missed due to this unfortunate scheduling conflict was a class on the occult [...]

Ryan(StopMe): I'm still buzzing from seeing Kick-Ass at the cinema and went on a Mark Millar Comics spree as soon as I got out of the theatre. First I read the twisted humour of 'Wanted' (So much better than the lame film adaptation), then on to the fascinating 'Red-Son' which is about what the world would be like if Superman was a Soviet instead of a blue-eyed American son, and now I'm halfway into 'Kick-Ass' itself. It hasn't all been Superheroes and Supervillians this week as I've found another ten delightful tunes: [...]

We've spent all this time building up our digital music libraries, so why not tinker around with them a bit and have some fun? Last week I explored tunes that clocked in at 2:28 . This week, I take it to the streets. The exercise this week is to locate your street songs. I'm not talkin' lanes, avenues, roads, courts, and the like. Nuh-uh. I'm talkin' Streets . What's more, I'm looking for songs that are simply names of Streets. "Oak Street", "Main Street", "This Street", "That Street". So that leaves out a [...]

I happened upon an NFL pre-season game on which Joe Theismann was doing commentary. I know that Theismann was quite the irritant for several friends during his years as part of ESPN's Sunday night broadcasts. I was mostly indifferent. Sure, he's a bit of a pompous blowhole, but spending three hours listening to his proclamations, once a week, actually held a certain charm to me. However, one friend was so apoplectic over Theismann's broadcasting style that he once declared a desire to set him afire. I found that to be a bit [...]

After a week at sea, I might be listing to the side a little bit when I walk, and still securing things so they won't fall over when the ship tilts. I have what some call dock shock; it took me a week to get used to living on the ocean , and now it seems a week until everything on terra firma stops moving. I had an absolutely incredible , transformative week at sea - you can see how it all unfolded in these pics . I needed a kick in the [...]

Pete Droge just added Volume One , a new EP by The Droge & Summers Blend , to his Puzzle Tree Online Store today. The EP is made up of 5 tracks, and you - the picky music consumer - have the option of paying what you want, a la Radiohead's In Rainbows . I just picked up the digital download for the default price of $2.99, and they are well worth it. Head over to Pete's store to listen to the tracks and download if you fancy. [...]
![Grey's Anatomy Mix [Part 2]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/998285_lg.jpg)
I know, I know. Finally, part 2. A lot of these songs recall a very dreary point where I could see nothing but dark clouds and rain everyday for months on end. Most of the songs on Grey's Anatomy Mix I & II are "mellow" (a hated word, but I'll save that rant for another entry), but they're really good and reflective. Thinking everything through and putting all into perspective is what helped me get through my dark moments. Without these songs and the show itself I probably wouldn't have come to certain conclusions as thoroughly as I [...]

A killer love song from an underrated artist. I love the psychedelic effects, the instrumentation, the lyrics. This one just floats. Pete Droge - Do Be True (mp3) Buy Skywatching (2003) Visit Pete's Official Site | MySpace
It's a gloomy day in Kentucky, although it finally appears we're caught in the midst of that slow transition from Winter to Spring. Aside from the gloomy weather, today has also been incredibly slow paced. You know.. the days that seem to last an enternity? In an effort to make this gloomy weather go by faster, I've enlisted Pete Droge's somber voice to add a soothing soundtrack to the day. First things first: Pete Droge is not a new kid on the block. He's been making music since 1994 and has released [...]
