Electronic orgasms, delicious cup-cakes and other super sugary snacks, french discothèques, bright neon lights that hurt your eyes and walking the beach in the middle of February. The Golden Filter is beyond amazing. I'll be at the show at Brooklyn Bowl Saturday the 20th and so should you. MP3: Pretty Good Dance Moves - ""Leave Me Alone (featuring Bjorn Yttling)" It's easy to enjoy a band like Pretty Good Dance Moves (we caught them at Bowery Ballroom at the end of last year ), and now the poppy act are getting ready to release a new EP, PGDM , on March 9 via Township Records. The song posted above (featuring Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John ) is on the record...twice! Both the original version and a dance remix appear on the EP along with a slew [...]
![CD Review: The Drums – Summertime [2009, Moshi Moshi]](http://cache.elbo.ws/posts/2287517_lg.jpg)
Toronto - It's a new year, this means new albums. However, I am stuck listening to an album from 2009 that I somehow overlooked. It's the Drums - Summertime EP off Moshi Moshi records. I have no idea when this album/EP was released, but dang, it's good. As Allison eluded to earlier, the band has it's fair share of early 80s influences - songs like Submarine screams The Cure, if big Bob was always happy. The whistling on Lets Go Surfing is the most effective use of whistling since Peter Bjorn and [...]
Rain is pouring down in Yelle. Bucketing men. Cats. Dogs. And frogs. People don't know what to do. Brutal weather. As in bruuutal! As in just like most days in Ireland. People are on the verge of going into meltdown if it continues. Running off to buy candles and tinned food. Just in case. Thankfully, it [...]
Coachella announces another stellar line-up. We'll break it down and highlight the "under the radar" bands, as we do with all the best festivals. Stay tuned for that! TDOA faves, Sad Day For Puppets release a new 73 for "Again". Ordering details here . The Cribs appear on Jimmy Fallon's show. New Peter, Bjorn and John video for "Esther", previewing their March Swedish language release. [...]
Start off the new year with a bang ... literally! And why not - there's nothing else to do in these frigid temps. Your best bet is to burrow under a down comforter with something cute and snuggly and not your childhood stuffed animal. Sure, you could hit the gym, that's one way to combat the doughy advances on your midsection, but the gym can't make out with you; this methodology is a welcomed alternative for calorie burning. (Please note: Radio Exile does not take responsibility for any buns that may manifest in any [...]

I don't know about you but 2009 was the year I fell in live with remixes. Starting TBE opened up my world to so many amazing reinterpretations of both great and not so great songs. Having always been more of a cover song guy this was new territory for me but I dove in headfirst and have been enjoying the ride so far. Good music is a personal thing and messing with great music is even more so. This is very much a subjective list and is based on nothing besides how much I love and respect the work done. [...]

I don't know how your first full week of 2010 has been, but I can tell you that mine has been busier than busy, and wilder than wild. To say that I've run into every manner of delay and problem might be overstating it just a bit, but really it feels like I've had to climb mountains just to get single posts to you this week. I don't even think it's a "back from vacation blues" sort of thing, because I like to think that if I hadn't been cursed with all manners of snowstorms and internet outages, not to [...]
Enjoy their brilliant take on 'Nothing To Worry About' in the feature below. MP3: Peter Bjorn & John - Let's Call It Off (Girl Talk Mix)
Christian Rich take on the Peter, Bjorn & John song and give it a new R&B twist that could be remixed in any club. The bass line and chorus are all very danceable and sped up or mashed up with another song this would definitely get people moving in the club. I was glad to [...]

This edition of Hip Hop Wed Crumbs is tiny but still good none-the-less. Deal with it. Intuition ft. Raquel Rodriguez - Hold Your Breath Medina - How Low Robin Thicke ft. Nicki Minaj - Shakin it 4 Daddy (JEY remix) The Knux ft. Malbec - Fruits Keri Hilson ft. Keyshia Cole & Nicki Minaj - Get Ya Money Up (remix) Mick [...]
Confession time... I am a turkey chump. Not just a turkey chump, I know. Soap. Porridge. Toothpaste. Toothbrushes. Mouthwash. Yogurts. T-shirts. Plenty more. Above all though, I'm definitely a turkey chump. Offers or deals enticing you to buy two instead of one, suck me in big time when I'm out buying food. Buy two of [...]

Some new sounds for the new year. Berlin based MMMathias sent me an email with his new bootleg remix of Yeasayer's ONE. It's pretty great so I built a mix around it. Thanks to The World In A Paper Cup for the Savoir Adore track, Pasta Primevera for their favourite remixes of the year post. Artwork from GTMT . WhoMadeWho - Keep Me In My Plane (Modernaire Remix) Little Boots - New In Town (The Golden Filter Remix) Yeasayer - [...]

What if you were stranded on a deserted island with your iPod only capable of holding 25 albums of your choice from the last decade? Assuming, of course, you have unlimited battery power (and enough food and water), what albums would you pick to listen to over and over? Well, probably the ones that you go back to just for pure listening enjoyment. It wouldn't be same as the so-called "experts" best of [...]

While googling to find our readers the mp3 links for the Sirius XMU Top 41 of 2099 playlist, it struck me that all these songs have one thing in common. Almost all of these tracks are available via free + legal mp3 sites such as rcrdlbl , Pitchfork , The Fader , Prefix Mag , I Guess I'm Floating , etc. Record labels and upstart bands take note! If you want your new music to make a mark, make an mp3 easy to find and download. [...]

40. Lily Allen "Fuck You" It takes some balls to release a single called "Fuck You", but no one ever claimed Lily Allen doesn't have balls. Is it equally ballsy to write a song called "Fuck You" and have it be about George W. Bush? Most definitely. MP3: Lily Allen "Fuck You" 39. Weezer "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To" Despite the downward spiral of Weezer's album making career, Rivers has never lost his ability to [...]
20. Peter Bjorn & John - "Young Folks" ; Who knew whistling could be this catchy? Maybe if Andrew Bird would have simplified things he would have wound up on this list! Either way there is no denying how great this song was the first time you heard it and it still is, unless you overplayed it for yourself. 19. Gnarls Barkley - "Crazy" ; No doubt this song HAS to be on every list of this kind. Placement is a personal choice but there is no denying [...]
