Here's a new little jam called "Right Away" from one of my favorite new artists from last year Peter Wolf Crier . Upon first listen, the song immediately drew me in with its creative and unique take on drums and quirky rhythms. I'm sure that we can expect more great tunes when the band's new album Garden of Arms hits stores on September 8th on Jagjaguwar Records . Download: Peter Wolf Crier - Right Away [MP3]

Peter Wolf Crier - Right Away Peter Wolf Crier's second album, Garden of Arms, will be released on September 6 on Jagjaguwar. This album will follow up Inter-Be their 2010 debut. Their first single off the upcoming album is Right Away, a song composed of multiple instruments played at various speeds and directions, it gives it a experimental, almost dream like state. It's very reminiscent of early Menomena sounds and is a bit of a change from the indie folk debut. It's an interesting endeavor and it certainly piques my curiosity.

Dudes, obviously we love Peter Wolf Crier over here (#8 album on our Most Revered of 2010 , thank you very much). So, the out-of-the-blue news yesterday of a new album, Garden of Arms due September 6, via Jagjaguwar , was happily accepted up in this piece. While, admittedly, I'm a fan of the drums (B. Moen crush still going on over here), I'm not sure how I feel about this jam as a whole. Perhaps I'll need to sit on it and let [...]

Peter Wolf Crier announced a new track today called "Right Away" off their new record Garden of Arms out on Jagjaguwar on 09.06.11, following their highly acclaimed debut "Inter-Be". I had the honor of going along for the ride with this record as more of a loving listener, watching it manifest and ripen during the Spring season from what were a few honest thoughts- barely written, just played and played. Swelling into what took form and shape of fully-realized songs. Guarded and framed by Brian Moens drums, [...]

[LOCAL] *MP3: Peter Wolf Crier - “Right Away” Peter Wolf Crier’s new album, Garden Of Arms , will be out on 9/6 via Jagjaguwar.

MOKB Presents hosted a really excellent night of music last Fall that featured Minneapolis duo Peter Wolf Crier . The live show was tight and engaging, filled with songs from the band's debut release Inter-Be . PWC announced today that they will release their follow-up, entitled Garden of Arms this September 6th through Jagjaguwar . The band created this album during a short break from touring (over 100 shows in six months!). The eleven tracks were recorded by Peter [...]

I was a bit torn about getting this one written. On the one hand, I'm having the extremely lazy day I've needed so badly after the last few hell weeks at work. On the other hand, I've only just discovered Peter Wolf Crier's album, Inter-Be , and it's wrapped my chilly soul in a nice, warm argyle sweater. Back to the first hand, the album came out in 2009 (that's 136 B.C. in Blog Years). Then again, I'd be doing myself and most importantly our loyal readers a giant disservice if I didn't [...]

Peter Wolf Crier is a dynamic indie folk duo composed of Peter Pisano (former Wilco frontman) and Brian Moan. Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, the band exceeded my expectations with their debut album, Inter-Be. Even more appealing is the fact that the majority of the album was put together in one night. With a snazzy band name, a vintage sound, brilliant harmonies, and songs that remind me of M.Ward these guys are definitely up there with my favorites of 2010. While the whole album is worth your time (and money), it’s their songs Down, Down, Down [...]

[ 2010's Most Revered is The Hive's version of a year-end list. Right about now (or meow, if you will) we will highlight the albums, EPs (yes, EPs), and what-have-yous, that made us sit up and listen over the past 365 days.] Dudes, let me clue you in. This here is a music blog. Yes, I ramble about personal shit and then throw some semi-related tunes at you but in my defense, this is what I know how to do. I can journal; I cannot write a music review. That requires like, college and shit. But because [...]
