It's a collection that showcases the depth of Bay Area indie in 2009, and one suspects that few other regions have offered this volume of quality releases this year. A couple of qualifiers: This isn't a comprehensive list of excellent local records from 2009 or intended as any sort of official Bay Bridged [...]

Petracovich - "Heaven Help the Day" Crepusculo is the brand new third album from Petracovich , the musical identity of Santa Rosa's Jessica Peters. Like Peters' other works, the album is guided by strong vocals and moving lyrics layered atop lush musical textures, but there's a notable shift in emphases from electronic textures toward more organic sound. The new collection is also inescapably personal since it was written and recorded while Jessica was pregnant with her son Otto Charles. Jessica's son tragically passed away eight [...]

Boards Of Canada, Geogaddi Some friends of mine have started a new community bath house for music called Favorite 10 . As with most people, I like making lists, reading other people's lists, comparing lists, crossing things off of lists, basically anything to do with lists. On this site, you can make your favorite lists to compare and contrast with some other die-hard music fan that thinks they know what they are talking about. Discuss the merits of Steve Perry's solo career away from Journey, or make fun of people's lists because [...]
