Aun - Phantom Ghost By Kenny McMurtrie If Seefeel hadn't already returned to the fray earlier this year then you would think that this was their comeback, such is the debt in sound that Aun 's Phantom Ghost owes to the older group's Nineties material. Derivative it is not however, and you would be right in thinking that the impression of the Canadian duo's sound that the above comparison conveys is indicative of a number of listens being required of the album before its majestic subtleties are [...]

Also macht man sich [...]

St. Vincent "The Neighbors" Annie Clark tends to deliver her vocal parts with a calm, steady tone that makes even her most anxious lyrics come across as extraordinarily lucid, but as she sings the emotional climax of "The Neighbors," her voice trembles a tiny bit, indicating great stress and strain in the slightest inflection. "How can Monday be alright, and then on Tuesday lose my mind?" She sounds genuinely exasperated by her emotional instability, in the way that only someone who identifies as a solid, well-adjusted person can [...]

topps I am pre tty excited t o write a post about the German due known as Phantom/Ghost . They do truly kick ass, and one are one of my top ten all time favorite bands. (it was agreed writers would not over-boast but they're that good) Thies Mynther and Dirk von Lowtzow created their first album back in 2001. The album is self titled and is poppy danceable electronic beats with almost sing-song lyrics, sung in what sounds like an English not German [...]

Your organs working perfectly, but there's a part that's not screwed on. Memo From Turner was recorded by the Rolling Stones on November 17, 1968. The song was released in 1975 on the Metamorphosis album. The version on the Performance movie soundtrack was recorded earlier by Mick and has slightly different lyrics. My Top 10 Down and Dirty Stones Songs: 1.) Can't You Hear Me Knocking 2.) Stray Cat Blues 3.) Slave 4.) Monkey Man [...]

A rather dark pop track with a muted bassline that haunts. Kinda reminds me of a cross between The Postal Service and Camouflage . This track is taken from their 2006 release " Three " From last.fm : The project Phantom/Ghost was formed in a hotel bar by producer and musician Thies Mynther (Stella, Superpunk) and Tocotronic's singer, songwriter and guitarist, Dirk von Lowtzow - both heroes of the music scene in Hamburg, Germany. The band's first and self-titled album was released in 2001. The second one was called "To [...]

Phantom/Ghost - Relax It's Only A Ghost

It would seem, as the year unfolds, that Kompakt, always a watershed label to turn to when American, French, French-Canadian, French-American, and British attempts at making a genuinely good 12" for both hearts and dancefloors utterly fail (as they often do, and have this year), really will, as fall sets in, save us all. From nuclear (pronounced "new-cue-luhr") terrorists? Sure. From certain armageddon-nay, a world-shattering apocalyptic vision (perhaps that verysame post apocalyptic dawn that Derrick Carter once prophisized)? Why not. From rote techno? Absolutely. Enter, stage right, Michael Mayer. [...]

Relax it's only a Ghost
Wie man auf der offiziellen Seite von …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead lesen kann gibt’s bei myspace ein zeitlich begrenztes Pre-Listening zu ihrem neuen Album So divided. Intro und erster Song sind auf ähnlichem Niveau wie beim letzten Meilenstein Worlds apart. Eine genauere Betrachtung folgt.
