Reset's brand of bass heavy party music has seen them become one of the most in-demand remixers and producers over the last 12 months. We've been banging our drum about these Milanese party starter for a while now. Well, to get you in the Christmas spirit they are giving away their and early Christmas present in the form of a popular bootleg they made of Phoenix's 'If I Ever Feel Better'. Phoenix - If I Ever Feel Better (RESET! bootleg remix) by RESET! [...]

Pheonix is one of those many European alt rock bands that had the good business sense (and poor cultural sense) to write their lyrics in the world's lingua franca rather than that of their own country. The Académie française would surely disapprove that this French group is not singing in la belle langue , but the rest of us who have become comfortable with worldwide English language hegemony are breathing a sigh of relief - it permits us, for example, to easily recognize Pheonix's newest hit, "Lisztomania." The original song is solid - a catchy guitar-driven, standard [...]

I'm really digging down tempo tracks lately, and this Essáy edit of Phoenix's 1901 is a perfect example of a sexy slowed down summer jam. I've always loved Pheonix's 1901 track (check out the Build remix), and this mix really accentuates all the detail in the track's sounds while giving it a house flavour. Phoenix - 1901 (Essáy's Heat Edit) by ESSÁY. If you're into the down tempo style, be sure to check out Wick's [...]

Five-piece French band Adam Kesher set the standards extremely high for themselves when they released their critically acclaimed debut album ' Heading for the Hills, Feeling Warm Inside ' back in 2008. To ensure they were up to the challenge, the disco house/rock band endeavoured the help of a handful of musical masterminds- Dave One , one half of electronic duo Chromeo , was on board as Producer, and the album was mixed by the holy hands of artists such as A-Trak , Cassius , Phillipe Zdar and Pierric Devin . [...]

Last year I came across the Build remix of Pheonix's 1901 and it's been a regular on my play list ever since. Build, aka Jason Reid, has also remixed the likes of Cut Copy, The Teenagers, and Delphic, but "Palm Tree" is his first original comp. Beaches, sun, bikinis, ocean breezes and synths. I can taste the icy cool Piña Coladas now... Build - Palm Tree by build Check out Build on SoundCloud for more remixes. [...]

Nashville-based producers EarthMoonEarth have released two remixes that they created from Phoenix's "Fences" and Britney Spears' "Toxic". Personally, this is my first exposure to EarthMoonEarth and I can easily say that I am intrigued to hear more .. This is an important element of a New Years Eve Party that so many unfortunate souls neglect. Don't let it be this you this year Another Year Has Gone By by Celine Dion - Psych!!! Ha oh man... I wish I could've seen your faces with that one. Curse the non-personal nature of blogging. Ok [...]

Earth Moon Earth released this Pheonix remix earlier last week. If it wasn't for the ridiculously obnoxious garageband style snare & sweet piano lick happening around the three minute mark - I most likely wouldn't have posted this. However, this is a pretty cool remix of what I have found to be a very tough genre to remix successfully. I say that because I seem to see tons of remixes of Pheonix tunes out almost weekly, and very few seem to have the necessary pop I'm waiting to here out of any of them. Regardless, a very good job [...]

Phoenix have enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame since releasing their break through album; 20092s 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix'. Hazmat and myself watched them play a fantastic set this time last year at Brixton Academy, they've since been creeping up the bill at festivals around the world and have also won a Grammy. But their gig at New York's Madison Square Garden on wednesday night must be without a doubt one their crowning moment thus far? At the close of their headline set at one of the worlds most famous arena's they came out for the encore with surprise guests [...]

Last night, Daft Punk hit the stage at Phoenix 's show in New York City's iconic Madison Square Garden arena during their encore. With Phoenix, the french house gods played a jammed out mix of their classic "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and "Around The World". This was Daft Punk's first live performance in three years. Hopefully the first of many, seeing that their Tron Legacy soundtrack is due out in a few weeks. You can watch the video of Daft Punk performing "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and "All Around The World" (after Phoenix's "If I [...]
"It's Saturday night. It's the Hollywood Bowl. It doesn't get any better than this," gushed Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars at the start of the band's first Bowl experience. "I never thought we'd be here." Which is funny, because the band seemed right at home in front of the sea of 17,000 fans at the sold-out hillside venue. Launched into the stratosphere by their latest record, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix —and with more than a little help from the Cadillac SRX commercial featuring the catchy "1900"— Phoenix kicked off their U.S. tour with nothing short of a spectacle. After [...]

"I keep getting older, and [it] stays the same age." [For those indie rockers who made fun of the hippies coming here in 2002] Borrowing a classic line from Dazed & Confused seemed appropriate for the final Bonnaroo journal entry of the year. I've got to admit, it's been a mind-blowing experience to see how Bonnaroo, as a festival, has grown but still manages to stay the 'same age', so to speak. I've been attending the festival since its inception and at the time I was [...]
As I predominantly listen to more urban music (Hip Hop/Rap), when I like a alternative rock/ synthpop band, they either must be good, or I have no grasp on that kind of music... With Phoenix I really hope it's the former. Phoenix are a French band, and the biggest thing signed from Versailles, since the treaty. [...]

So as I set here at my desk feeling sick after a long night of heavy drink wishing I was still in bed I write you this. There is nothing better to cure a hangover then a cup of beef soup and some good tunes. So let me just get to the point seen as I need to go lay down to cure this massive headache.Enjoy.... Coupons are an indie dance duo that combine their passion for old school synth with a touch of nu disco. These guys have been producing for a while but have only just been hitting the blog waves. With a growing discography, keep your eyes close on what they have coming up. Coupons - Driving to your house party (original mix) ysi 192 Its a mix of pumping drums and vintage synthesizers, probably the most intense 116bpm song you've heard in a while, theres even this awesome percussion breakdown that wouldn't [...]
The house lights shoot to black, and when the stage lights replace them, the kinetic ball of energy known as Manchester Orchestra have taken the stage. Frontman Andy Hull, all hair and plaid, leads the audio assault, as he starts the set out with a feverish rendition of You My Pride And Me that sets the table for what's to come. Manchester Orchestra - Hull, guitarist Robert McDowell, bass player Jonathan Corley, drummer Len Clark and multi-instrumentalist Chris Freeman – are two official full lengths, ('06's I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child and '09's [...]
