"Hey you, out there on your own, can you hear me?" Seriously, listen up. In celebration of Why Pink Floyd? , this year's campaign of re-issues from England's legendary psych rockers, Consequence of Sound is giving away one whopper of a package: Pink Floyd 's full catalog (from 19672s The Piper at the Gates of Dawn to 19942s The Division Bell ). Are you ready to have a cigar? Are you just one soul swimmin' around in a fish bowl? Do you lack the "Time" and "Money" to pick up one of [...]

I had the chance to catch Lights Resolve 's cryptic performance last week at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY in honor of the release of their debut album Feel You're Different . The band, dressed in all black, drew the crowd in from the very first haunting guitar ring guitarist Matt Reich let out. It's obvious these guys are digging deep. With slates of mirror behind the instruments that the entire crowd could see themselves in during their set, it seems like the band is asking their audiences to do the same. [...]

Roger Water's The Wall tour. It was so nice we get to have it twice. The tour that took the world by storm is doing it again with a slew of new worldwide tour dates in 2012. North America gets its dose of The Wall starting on May 1st in Houston, TX and he'll be making all the major stops including Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL. Between that and Theo Epstein coming to Chi-town, Cubs fans should be super excited for 2012. All the North American dates can be [...]

As we previously reported , in a recent issue of Rolling Stone, Roger Waters revealed that he would be bringing his highly successful tour back to the United States this summer to play a number of markets that he missed the first time around, as well as the bigger news that he would also bringing the huge multi-media production outdoors for the first time, and that those show would be taking place baseball stadiums in select big cities. Well, Waters has come through on his promise, as today Live Nation has announced the latest leg [...]
As far as tribute albums go, Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here is an industry benchmark. Released in 1975, Wish You Were Here was created a couple years and a good amount of releases removed from Syd Barrett's withdrawal from the band and public eye. The lead vocalist and primary creative force at the time now gone, Pink Floyd was left at a crossroads; glaring questions about which direction the band would turn. Roger Waters and David Gilmour took lead rolls in the composition and songwriting while Nick Mason and Richard Wright took the metaphorical backseat. The creation of Wish [...]

Filed under: News Getty Images Charlie Gilmour, the son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour , has been sentenced to 16 months in jail for having embarked on a drink- and drug-fueled frenzy during a student fees protest in London. Gilmour, a 21-year-old student of History at Cambridge University, was first sentenced in July for "outrageous and deeply offensive behaviour" and has now lost his appeal, according to the Press Association . Today's Live Performance was an easy choice as soon as I saw it on youtube, with Pink Floyd still being in the news due to the re-release of their entire catalog. So here it is: PULSE the live concert video. A good 2 hours and 25 minutes out of Pink Floyd's music catalog. Pulse (stylized as P•U•L•S•E) is a Pink Floyd concert video taken from the October 20, 1994 concert at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, in The Division Bell tour, originally released on VHS and Laserdisc in 1995.

What happened to the Justice we came to know and love on the Parisian duo's 2007 debut album? Well, Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay have decided to shift from driving, bassy grooves that blend the intensity of techno with the heft of heavy metal to a more melodic, song-oriented approach that's more dreamy than danceable, and apparently influenced by '70s art rock. They also enlisted some impressive guest vocalists, including Vincent Vendetta from Midnight Juggernauts , and Morgan Phalen of Diamond Nights . We caught up with [...]
