SOUND: tech house. BEST PLAYED: during hypnosis. So I hosted my own personal listening party for the work of Canberra producer Biggie AKA The Enigma AKA Dan Eden. Biggie has offered up some impressive compositions already, including his Feedcrack EP which has been released on Hypnotic Room . Pinstripes is a deep number. A conventional tech house foundation that has been detailed with quirky nuances of synth and percussion, that bring out a distinct flavour to [...]

It's not like we necessarily need another britpop indie band from the UK to add to our playlist, because clearly there is some sort of fountain for talent coming from there, but it's not going to hurt to give the Pinstripes a listen. The band is young and I'm guessing that is the reason for their cliche lyrics and dreamy pop sound, but the fact of the matter is I love what I'm hearing. Maybe it's a chick thing.

As I mentioned before, I recently returned from the yearly music portion of SXSW 2008 in Austin, TX. The plan to go had been in the works for a few years now (it isn't a cheap couple of days) but this year, I'm happy to say I finally got my ass on a plane. As there's day parties and night performances I saw A LOT of music over the 6 days I was there. But as you'll read, it was well worth it.
