Bill Callahan - "Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle"Bill Callahan - Too Many Birdsii. Fever Ray - "Fever Ray"Fever Ray - Now Is The Only Time I Knowiii. Bibio - "Ambivalence

The cull is complete. Down from 29 albums to a slightly more acceptable 17. Now all I've got to do, is sit down and write about them. As with previous years, the list will not be classed as the best albums of 2009, rather it will be my favourite albums of 2009. Note the subtle difference. I make no claims for them being the most innovative, the most ground breaking or the most awe inspiring, sonically adventurous records. They are merely the 17 records that have entertained and excited me the most over the last 12 [...]

in no particular order, here are my 13 favorite albums of 2009. heartless bastards // the mountain [ the mountain ] neko case // middle cyclone [ people got a lotta nerve ] florence & the machine // lungs [ dog days are over ] metric // fantasies [ gimme sympathy ] st vincent // actor [ the [...]

Another track from Polly Jean Harvey & John Parrish's A Man And A Woman Walked By ,the slow burner "Leaving California". PJ Harvey & John Parrish - "Leaving California" -mp3

PJ HARVEY & JOHN PARISH Senenin ilk yarısında çıkan atladığım albümlerin başıdır A Woman A Man Walked By . Müzikleri besteleyip çalan John Parish , yazıp söyleyen ise PJ Harvey . Tıpkı 13 sene önce de olduğu gibi. Bana göre best of 2009'larda kendisine yer bulacak dört dörtlük bir deneysel folk-rock ürünü. Leaving California

is everyone looking forward to a swingin rock song today? good, thats the answer i was hoping for. today were taking a listen to a track by a couple of music vets who have been around for quite some time now - pj harvey and john parish . they recently released their second collaboration album entitled "a woman a man walked by". and by recently i mean in early 2009. their last collaborative album, "dance hall at louse point" was released waaaay back in 1996. and theyve both done tons of [...]
(Island, 1998), [...]

Oh, PJ. How I loved your show with John Parish and your little black dress and twisting performative wails. Thank you for playing Rope Bridge Crossing. Thank you for filling the ballroom with aging rock nuts that were so into it. I am sorry about the stuffed animals that people threw on the stage. I'm not sure what that was about. Sixteen, Fifteen, Fourteen - PJ Harvey and John Parish That Was My Veil [...]
From the looks of things, the Bay will be a little slow in regards to shows. That doesn't mean there isn't anything going on, just not as much as usual. First off, tonight A Camp plays The Independent and the Haight Street Fair features We Be the Echo at the Stanyan Stage. Monday will have British indie rocks Art Brut at the San Francisco Amoeba Records at 6pm and at The Independent with LoveLikeFire at 8pm. Tuesday features lo-fi rocker That Ghost [...]

MP3 : PJ Harvey and John Parish - Sixteen, Fifteen, Fourteen
The last time that we had a collaborative album from PJ Harvey and John Parish was in 1996 with the wonderful Dance Hall at Louse Point. For that opus, she wrote all of the lyrics and performed the vocals and he wrote the music and played almost all of the instruments on the record. Thirteen years later, A Woman A Man Walked By follows suit with the same formula as its predecessor, and once again highlights the nearly untouchable talents of these two artists. read more

A couple of weeks ago at The Rivoli in Toronto, I got a chance to hear Dance Yourself to Death's debut album, Ready for Love, for the first time at their CD release party. The intimate venue could barely contain the crowd or the size of their songs. Their first full length is one of big proportions and aspirations. You can practically see the fist pumps and hand claps of an arena-sized audience while listening to the opening song 'We Are All Made of Stone'. On 'Only Love', the lights are flying and the crowed is fired up [...]

A Woman A Man Walked By .

Gig Of The Week - Camden Crawl One of London's biggest music festivals, the Camden Crawl , (certainly in terms of bands and venues) takes place on Friday and Saturday this week, capping an excellent week for gigs in the capital. Any other week would see PJ Harvey & John Parish's pair of shows at Shepherd's Bush Empire being top billing, and I'll be there on Monday. There's also the Ether festival continuing, with shows from Squarepusher and the reformed Spaceshipp (Spiritualized J Spaceman and [...]
