Skreintax, the hook-up between Skrein and Dr. Syntax, released their album 'Scene Stealers' in December, an album which despite being excellent, sounded like it should have arrived during the summer months. Now a few months and a whole load of snow deep into winter, title track 'Scene Stealers' still needs some sun however its combination of limber putdowns, Dag Nabbit's heavy drums and DJ IQ's cuts is welcome. Flipside 'Last Dayz' is what's going to attract attention here, not least because it isn't available elsewhere. It's a neck snapping, British type Hip Hop club banger that [...]

Featuring Rusko, Dave Nada, Nadastrom, Blue Jemz, Congorock and more!
One fine autumn saturday morning, i found myself watching Soccer AM as I usually do. Now Soccer AM has always been good for the music it uses for their various mini-feature thingies, especially on 'Showboat'. This specific day was no exception. The skills on show weren't especially brilliant but the tune had me hooked. I was surprised because I hadnt heard the song before and my main man Kano was on the track. That 2 minute clip immediately prompted me to get online and check out the actual artist, Chase & Status. Again, I hadnt heard of them [...]

The story of The Abominable Iron Sloth might rival the tale of the mythical beast conceptualized by the band's frontman Justin Godfrey . According to legend the giant sloth was swallowed by an avalanche at the dawn of the first Ice Age, only to be uncovered 10,000 years later by a small village, which ultimately meets its doom at the hands of the behemoth. Godfrey started The Abominable Iron Sloth in Chico, Calif. in 2004 . Over the next two years he created a monster so to speak, turning the Iron Sloth into one [...]

Artwork courtesy of Lydia Reynolds Hey kids hows it going? A little under a week now since our last mixtape and in fact since our last post fullstop. Once again, the guys over at Fabric hand over a great mix from Yuksek with sounds as typical as you've come to expect from this French electronic DJ/Producer! The reason for this? Well, what do... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

And it's all free. Join Sinden , Nick Catchdubs , Mischa and Nacho Lovers as Scion hosts a free night of bangers with VICE at Plan B, on East 10th St. We'll see you there at 11pm. (mp3) La Lupe - Fever (Sinden remix) Godspeed!

Chase and Status have messed around with UK Hip Hop before, with good results. Akala and Dizzee Rascal have both had the D'n'B treatment from these dudes, the latter being an absolute banger - better than the original ('Sirens') if you ask me. With their latest D'n'B/UKHH outing being a bonafide collaboration, not a remix, it had to feature on the hallowed pages of Certified Banger. They've hooked up with Plan B on 'Pieces' and for all those newly converted Pendulum fans, this is for you. It's definitely along those rocky/D'n'B lines but fans [...]

When 'That Girl That Boy' came out I thought it was possibly the most amazing track I had heard to date. Looking back, I may have been caught up in the fact it is the most energetic track I had ever heard. Since then, they have lost all credibility in my books. I havn't enjoyed a single other one of their songs I'v heard. They seem watered down and set for the commercial world which is a shame. I also reckon they missed their window of opportunity. When the scenesters were loving the new rave, Hadouken! were living it. Since [...]

Takeru Kobayashi, the world's most famous hot dog eater, lost in the 93rd annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest to American Jody Chestnut. It was the second year in a row that the six-time champ and former world record holder had lost to Chestnut. Both men ate 59 hot dogs in 10 minutes, but Chestnut then won a five-dog "eat off". Man, someone so totally needs find these guys some strippers. This story reminds me of: Plan B - No More Eating (from Who Needs Actions When You Got Words ) [ BUY [...]

can't ummmm... say the same thing about his legs. Plan B feat. Coldplay & Rick Ross "Hustling"

plan b is the seattle based creation of james van leuven. originally a member of the post-punk band automoton, his solo efforts vibrantly share a welcomed change to the softer sides of downtempo. over the past few years, he has personally recorded and distributed his own work, presenting a collection of trip-hop based sounds mixed within the art of experimentation. stylized by instrumentals, hypnotic french female vocals, perfectly fitting samples, penetrating deep bass and rich textured beats provide planb's automatic movie-like soundtrack to simply everything new, foreign and surrounding.

this whole album is sick. Plan B feat. The Rolling Stones "Paint It Blacker"
Even though I tend to ignore music videos as facets for finding new material, there was one by an artist named Plan B that completely wowed me right before SXSW. In fact I would have already posted about the rapper but that week was so crazy that I completely forgot about him until an email concerning his new album, Who Needs Actions When You Got Words, popped into my inbox yesterday. The guy has an amazing voice and I'm incredibly excited to have a couple of songs from his tour only bootleg album, Paint It Blacker. The [...]

You know, sometimes the artist's self-written bio says it all: "Always Been the outsider, the underdog black sheep mutha fucka! picked da guitar up age 14 and aint put it down since. Have been writing songs for around 7 years and rappin for 3. Spent my youth torn between Grunge, Rock, Jungle music and The Prodigy. Yes, i sing as well! Dont think that makes me a pussy though blood, cos u will get
I've mentioned Plan B quite a lot up here... and I feel he didn't really get the credit he deserved last year. That's been well and truly confirmed to me by listening to his tour CD 'Paint it Blacker'. It's only available at dates on his current tour, and I can highly recommend going along to one of his remaining dates just to pick up a copy. The CD has mainly got Plan B reworking tracks from
2007 is not long upon us, but two remixers have already taken the year by the balls. Switch (or Dave Taylor to his mum) has clearly moved into the big league now, and in the last month he's hit us with three killer re-rubs - of Robbie Williams, P. Diddy and Freeform Five. Possibly the best of the bunch is this one by Freeform Five. Keeping it deep, dirty and distorted, it's an instant Switch
