Killbeat It was pretty fun times to be an artist named for (or almost named for) a Matthew Broderick vehicle back circa 2007/2008. Plants and Animals Mix Plants and Animals have silently made a solid catalog of music over their last 3 albums. Their best to date, in my opinion, is still their debut Parc Avenue , but that album's recording process spanned many years, which resulted in a very eclectic mix of amazing rock. P&A's next two albums focused more in the classic rock direction, and the results were interesting and enjoyable. For this week's HDDP , I hope to highlight band's very best songs, condensing the list down to 15 [...]
My favorite albums are the ones that sneak up on me. The slow growers that don't make an impact at first, but slowly seep in. Canada's Plants and Animals released The End of That back in February and it filled up all the little cracks and broken splinters of my life for the rest of the year. The album filled all those spare moments in airports, on planes, in hotels, or at home while doing yard work.
