A friend reminded me of how very amazing Empire of the Sun were this weekend, and I was pleased to tell them about their latest outing: Elton John vs Pnau . Autralian duo PNAU , aka Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes ( Empire of the Sun ) delivered Whenever , written and produced with Elton for Cirque du Soleil last year...and the collaboration didn't end there. Their latest project Good Morning To The Night under the moniker Elton [...]

Australian dance duo Pnau will release their new single "Sad" on July 16th as part of the interesting project Elton John vs. Pnau , where Elton John himself has given his blessing for them to use his tracks. The single contains elements from the following Elton John tracks "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word", "Crazy Water", "Friends", "Nice And Slow" and "Curtains".

On July 16th, Universal Music will compile five Elton John album from the early 19702s in a new box set, aptly titled Classic Album Selection (1970-73 ). The collection includes John's self-titled sophomore record, Tumbleweed Connection, Madman Across the Water, Honky Château , and Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player . While no new bonus or unreleased tracks are part of the collection, these five classics include some of the Rocket Man's most popular songs: Elton John features his breakthrough single "Your Song", Madman [...]

"I used to know this old scarecrow" I don't generally post radio rips (which this is), but I'm so taken with this project that I can't help but get excited any time something new is released. I'm a big Elton John fan, and a big Pnau fan... so seeing the two combine in a dance/electronic/mash-up project is just really cool. Sad is what I assume will be the next single from the yet-to-be-released album, and it's more laid back and lyrical than their first. While it includes samples from Nice & Slow , [...]

South Korean Bass of Ace has posted us a refreshing and sturdy admission of contemporary re-takes completely deferential and irrespective of their Originals and marvellously turning each and every one into his own patent Bass of Ace sound. Spreading transitional glows of escapism throughout ones icy heart and transforming the dare-to-dream-about mindset that you would wish to own, from by in which you would be retaining if you were a resident in the realm called Heaven.. these soul-entrenched and body-moving, absent minded (in a picturesque sense) electronic-narratives are as lovely as the concept entitled Bass of Ace. [...]

While we all eagerly await Elton John's upcoming 31st album produced by T-Bone Burnett, it looks like we have an exciting little side project the multiple award-winner and "frenemy" to Madonna, to keep our ears happy this summer. John has paired up with Australian electronica duo PNAU, for the release of Good Morning To The Night, a new album which sees PNAU re-inventing classic Elton John

Looks like ole sir Elton John will be gracing the decks for Ibiza's first ever three day music festival, 123 Ibiza Rocktronic . Although we aren't sure as to the "Candle In The Winds" skills when spinning the 12s and 22s he will be joined by Australian indie-poppers PNAU - who have a degree of dance in them as brothern of Nick Littlemore shares the same bloodline as Sam La Moore . The most exciting bit will hopefully be a proper unveiling of tracks taken from the remix album commissioned [...]

Australian electro pop mavens PNAU threw Elton John 's Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters into a blender of sorts - reworking it into Good Morning To The Night. The duo, comprised of Nick Littlemore of Empire of the Sun recently collaborated with the Sir on Whenever , a track from Cirque de Soleil's Zarkana. What do you think of Good Morning To The Night? [...]

It has been revealed eccentric indie dance outfit Empire Of The Sun are working on a new album. The duo that consists of Luke Steele from Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore from Pnau revealed via their EOTS Facebook page the progress that has been made in their time in New York recording! "OK we are currently in New York City writing songs for the new empire album , and we are pleased to say its going exceptionally well, you know they say you can't rush art , baby well , we just want to bring our best to [...]

"Turn around to say good morning to the night" We've got a really cool project on our hands here. Australia's Pnau, who had my favorite single of last year, have been granted access to Elton John's masters from his back catalog. Given this incredible wealth of material, they've been charged with reinterpreting/remixing his hits. An album is forthcoming, but for now we've got the first taster. Good Morning To The Night is a reswizzling of the classic Elton track Mona Lisas & Mad Hatters , though to be honest you're not going to [...]
PNAU ’s new album ‘Soft Universe’ is out later this month. But wait, isn’t it already out? Why, yes, yes it is. The album was first released to the world last summer, then got picked up by Ministry Of Sound and released digitally by them now, at the end of March, MOS are releasing ‘Soft Universe’ on CD. I’s an awesome, euphoric records that we talked a lot about last year and if, like us, you still have a massive soft spot for a physical release, it’s definitely an album that warrants the real deal. Crammed full or [...]

Selected as Pete Tong's Essential New Tune on his BBC Radio 1 show this past Friday, 'Good Morning To The Night' has all the characteristics of a cross-over hit. With a touch of Coldplay's ' Charlie Brown ,' 'Good Morning To The Night' is a terrific record with heart. Not in your face by any means (we'll leave that to the remixes that, as Pete Tong alluded to, are likely to roll in.) Just a lovely dance record. With Elton John's blessing, the Australian duo is free to work on any of John's back catalog. John [...]
