Here comes the final chapter of a somewhat musical love story as the first teaser of PNAU and Elton John collaborating has touched down on the internet. It was Elton who first mentored and publicized the band and propelled them to stardom along with their own various hits including "Wild Strawberries" and the fantastic "Embrace" featuring Ladyhawke . Tentatively titled "Mona Lisas & Mad Hatters" the track was produced by PNAU using vocals from some older lesser-known Elton tracks. There will be a [...]

(Photo by Matmoon ) I've been getting this question a bit recently in some emails so I decided to address it on Twitter this morning and also here. The question was simply why I'm behind other music blogs in posting tracks. Now, to understand this question fully you have to look at what exactly posting tracks means to people. To me, it means posting the full track when it gets released so you, the listener, are able to decided whether or not you'd like to buy it. For a lot of other music blogs it means posting [...]

So for those of you who aren't in the know, Swick has been on fire in recent times. He has put out a couple of stellar EP's on Malente's No Brainer and also collaborated with his mate Tranter on some great tunes as well. Swick was kind enough to put together the latest in my blog's Mixtape series, and the track selection is EPIC to say the least. Peep this: JWP Mixtape Series 002 - Swick Tracklisting: 1. Swick - Pasta (Depressed [...]
![[Disco Acid House] Pnau – Unite Us (Tommy Trash Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4042961_lg.jpg)
Today your friendly neighborhood Music Ninja brings you a new collaboration from two Australia-based acts who now call London their home. Bad boy house producer Tommy Trash took "Unite Us", the latest track from indie crooners Pnau and spun it up into an energetic acid house trip worthy of Afrojack and Swedish House Mafia's love baby. With the infectious synth lines and glam inspired percussion breakdown this happy tune is easy to enjoy, so throw it in your stereo tonight for an impromptu dance party down under! Buy: Pnau - [...]

Original Image by Gwenael Piaser Before you know it the first month of 2012 is over and done with! The NOMP mixtapes are the perfect way to catch up on all the great music posted on this blog in the month gone by and therefore here’s a little something to remember the month gone by with . The NOMP Jan 2012 mixtape includes music by artists like Cloud Nothings , [...]

Bog standard manu(factured) pop electro from Pnau. Was expecting more and It's a let down. The original is redeemed (as is this single release) by a great garage remix from Douster & Savage Skulls. Wookie tries his best to make something listen-able and nearly succeeds. Raffertie made some industrial thing that although unusable in any normal environment might provide a useful soundtrack for the next instalment of the Blade franchise, if there ever is one. That was my favourite, strangely, after several listens. There are also some hands in the air remixes including one from Kris Menace [...]
Do you remember when there was that one song that every DJ played this year? I’m sure some of you (really 80-85% of you) are going to think, “Yeah that was Levels by Avicii!” but I’m talking about the track that came right before Levels. Maybe some of you got it now; I’m thinking of the versatile banger, The End by the one and only Tommy Trash. Now, some people think that Tommy Trash overuses that synth that he created for The End .You may be right, but the reality is is that even if [...]
PNAU ’s anthemic ElectroPop single ‘Unite Us’ gets a brand new reMix package next month courtesy of Ministry Of Sound. The infectious summer soon-to-be-hit is backed with a whole host of awesome versions. We’ve got to mention Kris Menace’s reMix first, the french Touch master works his magic on the track and brings out everything epic about it. The track is quite stripped down for a Menace track, but it is just right in all the right places. Those looking for something a bit harder on the dancefloor should check out Tommy Trash’s Electro-House juggernaut. The rest of [...]

5. Rihanna - We Found Love Sometimes the most amazing songs are also the simplest. Rihanna's got a lot to thank Calvin Harris for. His production on this is just stunning, but it's the gutsy, battle-cry vocals that put this over the top. Her best single yet? Maybe. 4. Example - Changed The Way You Kissed Me [...]

8. Pnau - Soft Universe More song-oriented than their last album, this was a very pleasant Summer surprise. It's the perfect mix of electronic music and indie rock. More than that, it has an epic scope when it comes to the sounds and structures used. Though it's buoyed by a handful of remarkable tracks, the entire thing is actually pretty consistent, especially in this genre 7. [...]

I haven't heard anything from PNAU since their Empire of The Sun side project's amazing 2008 release of Walking on a Dream , but it seems that they're back with a new album and new remixes for their " Unite Us " single. With Kris Menace going for the epic, feel-good synth style that was huge in '07-'08 (the good ol' days) and Wookie taking care of things on the Garage front, these interpretations go in completely different directions and, in turn, cover several bases. Since we're on the [...]

...However, if you are planning to start 2012 without one of these in your music collection, then you have made something of a faux pas. 1. Yuksek 'Living On The Edge of Time' 2. Justice 'Audio Video Disco' 3. The Sound of Arrows 'Voyage' 4. CockNBullKid 'Adulthood' 5. Digitalism 'I Love You, Dude' 6. Pnau 'Soft Universe' 7. Apparat 'The Devil's Walk 8. Birdy 'Birdy' 9. Is Tropical 'Native To' 10. Jonsi 'We Bought A Zoo OST' 11. Chad Valley 'Eqatorial Ultravox' 12. Cut Copy 'Zonoscope' 13. Beni 'House Of Beni' 14. James Vincent McMorrow 'Early In The [...]

It's been a fair few years since influential UK garage producer Wookie released anything new so this remix is a nice wee surprise. Fingers crossed it leads to some new material from the man however as this remix of Aussie act PNAU is a bit of a belter. For the price of a click you get this chunky slab of house goodness with shuffly garage hi-hats, an earworm of a synth hook and a tonne weight of sub bass. The full single package also comes with a tasty remix courtesy of [...]
I don't know what's in the water down in Australia—aside from some crazy poisonous creatures like this and this and this —but someone needs to bottle it up and share it with the rest of humanity. As far as I can tell, every group to emerge from the land down under arrives with a superhuman ability to turn easy pop beats into hypercharged, gravity-defying megahits. But even this undersells PNAU , the Sydney duo consisting of Empire of the Sun's Nick Littlemore and high school compatriot Peter Mayes. Neo-disco and wrenching emotion [...]
