![[REMIX] Bravestation – "Signs of the Civilized (Polarsets Remix)"](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4263575_lg.jpg)
i would never ask for more but if you want more then i want more ♫ Bravestation - Signs of the Civilized (Polarsets Remix) When The Polarsets aren't laying down their Anglo-tropical grooves at TBE's SXSW showcases they sometimes work humble voodoo on other people's songs. I've passed on a handful of Bravestation tracks over the years but this bouncy bubble of a remix has been transformed into something else. Something perfect for summer.

Polarsets are Rob Howe (vocals, Guitar), Mickey Smith (bass) and James Rudd (drums), three lads from Newcastle, England. Their uplifting brand of indie pop relies on fast-paced guitars, playful vocals and synths galore to give the mix its dancey electro edge. Sometimes reminiscent of Two Door Cinema Club , Fenech Soler or a younger version of Friendly Fires , Polarsets have a knack for making the kind of catchy pop songs that will get all the indie kids dancing in clubs the world over. Polarsets have released the appropriately island-themed video for 'Tropics', featured on the band's 'Exotica' EP to be released in June. Watch it below. I did an interview with James and Mike from the band at SXSW ; you can watch the video interview here. Click here to view the embedded video.

Newcastle indie pop trio Polarsets put us in a pretty exotic mood with their catchy new track "Tropics", the lead single from their upcoming four-track EP "Exotica", which drops on June 18th. Preview the whole thing here , and watch the video for "Tropics", directed by Harry Jenkinson and Kristian Young, below.
What: In the video for UK pop-tropical outfit and recent CoSign Polarsets' new track "Tropics", the lead single off their forthcoming Exotica EP, teleportation actually exists. A little girl and her new friend put on masks, walk into an ancient beach house, and suddenly find themselves a decade older in a tropical paradise. Bypass puberty for a trip to the rainforest? Count me in. Tropics arrives June 18 via Neon Gold . Directed by: Harry Jenkinson and Kristian Young

Saturday, St. Patrick's Day, the 17th of March. The last full day of bands at SXSW , and I give myself the reward of a lie-in, however slight. Local friends ferry me to the best photography show in town, as something's been wrong with my camera lens since Friday afternoon. Diagnosis isn't good – there's something wrong with the lens and the manufacturer needs to open it – but I rush back to Latitude 30 to catch the start of the Northern Day showcase. Ghosting Season [...]
Polarsets are another great band from the North East that's making waves in the indie blogosphere. They were one of my 10 new bands to watch at SXSW and I did catch them play the British Music Embassy's Northern Day at Latitude 30 on Saturday 17 March. But the day before, I was able to corner drummer James Rudd and keyboardist / synthesist Mike Smith for a chat in Irish pub B.D. Riley's on Sixth Street. (Singer Rob Howe was unable to participate, as he had misplaced his ID and well, we met [...]

Polarsets marked our second Brit band of the day and our first electric geetar. Watching them strum away I felt like a moth attracted to a light bulb. The guitar was so hollow-bodied and shiny white with gold accents. Boss! We also shared our stash of organic gummy bears with the team. The consensus? Organic gummy bears are the business. And so are the Polarsets. Watch their performance of "Tropics" below and grab the live MP3 too! You may also enjoy...: [...]

By now, you've already heard about how thousands of acts hit Austin, TX each March for South by Southwest . This is just a known thing. And while most of the head turners are established acts performing rare, once-in-a-lifetime concerts within intimate venues (y'know, like Bruce or Jack ), it's really about the young, budding artists showcasing "what they've got." We saw those, too. We saw plenty. That's why each CoS writer who hit the streets of Austin last week came back with two new favorite acts. These were ones that stuck [...]
Day 2 was a blast. There was music, food, drink, and a lot of dancefloor shenanigans. I'll refer you to the full lineup for a list of the ways our socks were rocked. Below are the interviews I was able to catch. I think DWNTWN's gave me a new favorite location to do these... American Royalty / American Royalty - Lately Big Scary / Big Scary - Autumn Youngblood Hawke / Youngblood Hawke - Rootless [...]

I wish I had a bathtub stopper so I could lay stretched out and let my mind choose between dreaming, or exploring ceiling details while dreaming. Some impassioned vitamins can enhance any mystic mind journey, adding a certain vulnerability. As they weaken your body they strengthen your escape and let you drift into wonder. I've played this too many times and somehow it continues to stimulate. This song is better than medicine in its healing. Metric – Blindness (Amtrac Remix) [...]

Click to enlarge Yes, the rumors are true. The Burning Ear is in full effect at this year's SXSW. With the help of Joel's Lights & Music Entertainment and the awesome people at The Firehouse Lounge & Hostel we have cooked up the biggest blog curated lineup Austin has ever seen. Seriously. Sit down before you click through to the full event page . I wont even get into too many details here lest those of you not in Austin this week flip out with jealousy. If you feel [...]
Since the various laundry lists of bands that had been accepted for this year's SXSW had been announced, I bided my time. I wanted to wait for the official venue announcements, carefully poring over what had been released through the 2012 SXSW Web site while also considering smaller, nonofficial events that bands have been posting on their Facebooks or official Web sites. The headliners have been briefly profiled in part 1 of my SXSW 2012 preview. As you can imagine, there are so many bands playing at [...]

It came as a surprise that Newcastle act Polarsets were headlining the first Vive La France night this year at The Hope. That is until after a little digging, the reason's became apparent. Legendary record label Kitsune Maison has of course snapped them up as another promising addition to their small but perfectly formed list of acclaimed indie-popsters. Home to Two Door Cinema Club and Is Tropical to name a few, Polarsets are in good company. And of course as a French music label, it provides ample enough reason for them to spearhead a festival dedicated to great French music. [...]
With influences of Phoenix, Breakbot, Uffie and Penguin Prison , MAUSI is indie pop with a lot of disco. Their first single "sol." is set to be released on February 20th, via All Things Go . In the meantime, the Polarsets made a tropical remix to carry us over. This remix is more electronic, with an emphasis on the breathtaking female voice. Her demands are simple yet strong. "I'll be putting dreams in your eyes/I will be losing track of time as we dance in the summer days". MAUSI is a four piece [...]
