How Small We Are 3-Song EP by Pollyn Los Angeles based band, Pollyn, teamed up w/ Nozinja and Nurse Matlala of South Africa's Shangaan Electro, for their bugged out remix and video for Pollyn's song "How Small We Are," which was originally off their recently released album "Living In Patterns." iTunes: Living In Patterns - Pollyn
Music videos have a long history of demanding you suspend your disbelief as artists "sing" while dancing, prancing, falling, fighting and various other manners of play-acting. Pollyn frontwoman Genevieve Artadi takes the art of lip-synching to, er, new heights in the trios' video for "Sometimes You Just Know." Directed by Adam Jay Weissman and filmed by drummer Brian Henspeter, it was made over three days on more than 25 roller-coaster and thrill rides. The song itself — and, indeed, Pollyn's whole new album of heady electro, "Living in Patterns" — will leave you far less queasy. [...]
born out of their mutual love for the sample-heavy 90's electronic scene, Los Angeles trio the POLLYN release their funky, new, atmospheric pop jam and their new SOMETIMES YOU JUST KNOW video, which was shot over three days, guerrilla style on roller coasters. wotyougot
From their latest album Living In Patterns we have single number two from Los Angeles trio Pollyn. "Sometimes You Just Know" is a bright uplifting track complete with cowbells, handclaps and fun gang vocals. The video was shot over the course of three days on over 25 roller coasters and other thrill rides. When you find that you can't get enough of the song, you can head over to Bandcamp and grab it for $FREE.99 . Living In Patterns is now available over [...]

Pollyn is an LA three piece band that defines their style as difficult to define. Yes, they are one of those bands. But upon a closer look, their guest list on their remix EP Shake Out The Other Way affirms this genre-less style with artists like Freddie Gibbs, Nosaj Thing, and James Pants. For those unfamiliar, that's a Long Island ice-tea of current LA based artists mixing hip hop, experimental electronic, and dance. On "Falling Out Of Place" rapper Freddie Gibbs takes center with his gritty, tough guy style as he raps "Straight killer, [...]

Here's a little treat for ya. "Cold Sweat" is a b-side track featuring Roc Marciano which won't appear on Pollyn's new album. It's not quite hip hop, but still dope nonetheless. Pollyn is set to release their new album Living In Patterns October 4th. Download Pollyn - "Cold Sweat" ft. Roc Marciano Free Download Link (bandcamp) via JK: Pollyn - "Cold Sweat" ft. Roc Marciano

Consider Pollyn something like the Tom Tom Club covering Portishead. But Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth never met Roc Marciano, the latest impeccably chosen gollywopper to grace the Los Angeles band's remix series. To re-acclimate ourselves, let's tick off the artists they've recruited to re-invent the remix: Nosaj Thing, Debruit, Blue Daisy, Freddie Gibbs, James Pants, Exile, Sid Roams, and now the headhunter from Hempstead. The list speaks to the sense of sonic adventurousness that Pollyn possess. They are a throwback of sorts - a band that you interview and understand how deep their references go. [...]

Cold Sweat (featuring Roc Marciano) by Pollyn Pollyn is releasing a new album Living in Patterns on October 4th, to celebrate they leak a new collaboration track "Cold Sweat" featuring Roc Marciano.
When we previously heard from this talented L.A. three piece, Pollyn had released a great cover of Portishead's classic (yeah, I said it) "Mysterons". But now, the West Coast trio's looking to shed some light on their original work as they have a new album on the way in Living In Patterns . The thing is, this fucking rad track, the Roc Marciano-assisted "Cold Sweat", won't be featured on the record. What's great for us, though, is that they have decided to give it away as a free download. Bless you, Pollyn. Bless you. Hit [...]

Pollyn has a new album coming out on October 4th. The LP is called Living In Patterns . While this record was recorded during those sessions, it won't be on the final cut of the LP, instead being released now as a free b-side. Get it below.
Be still thy teenage heart. The heartbreak of a youthful crush gets over-the-top treatment in the new video for Superhumanoids' dreamy single "Mikelah." A young athlete ... the school beauty ... the agony of defeat. It was directed by the band's drummer Evan Weinerman, a filmmaker who works as Arms Race . "Cameron [Parkins] and I discussed how the 'Mikelah' lyrics speak to a couple, either romantic or platonic, who are caught up in a cycle of treating each other poorly. The inevitability of bringing each other down into a place of despair and loathing, a [...]

Everyone loves Portishead, but who the hell is Pollyn? Well, we have covered this Los Angeles trio for some time now as they have always dropped off some incredibly mind-bending tunes, but they have yet to reach that next level. To hopefully gain a bit of attention, they have released the video for "Mysterons", a fabulous cover of the Portishead classic. This song will serve as the b-side to the release of "How Small Are We", which you can also check out after the skip. That is available on iTunes now, but you can also look forward to the release [...]
