Pooma , from Finland's Helsinki, may have formed in 2000, but they are only now breaking beyond the Finnish borders to give the world a taste of their melancholy Scandinavian shoegaze. I have blank glassy tired eyes - what you seeing, boy? walking a bit too slowly for my own good. when it feels like everyone else on the tube is staring at you and the black pits you see opposite in the glass (they're not). listen to Pooma and try to figure out how you create a width of sound. this Sigur Ros/Múm feeling that the Icelandic and the Finns seem to do so well. it's shoegaze but bigger - this is not a soundscape Lush would ever work to.
