New Noise returned to the Gibson Guitars DC Showroom last thursday for its fourth installment with music from Tiny Victories and Slowdance . Amazing tunes were played, great times were had. Big thanks to the bands, Gibson Guitars , ASCAP , Tito's Vodka , Port City Brewing and KIND Snacks for making the night possible. Check out some photos from the evening, courtesy of Corey Thompson , after the jump. Stay tuned next week when we announce our extra special July edition. [...]

(photo: ralph giunta) after three years at wprk, i celebrated my very last zoo sesh today. while brainstorming my favorite jams of 2010, too many fl frnds came to mind. therefore, i felt it would be appropriate to dedicate today's show to the amazing talent i've been surrounded by (and reminiscent of weekly two hour local shows during my earliest wprk days). you can download today's playlist / hear yr new favorite band right here ! and yes, everyone played today is from florida. if i ran the [...]

To Graph - Feel it out (Port City remix) Kodak To Graph - Diet pills

PORT CITY - FEEL IT OUT (DEMO) PORT CITY follows the exploits of two space panthers searching for fly times and neon lights outside the city. Bike rides for the good vibes and turning the jams up way too high. Look out for an upcoming release from AMDISCS .

Port City: Hounds The reliably awesome AMDISCS just dropped another colossal compilation on our heads, and one of the many featured tracks is this new one from our favorite floridians (barring O-Town , of course). “Hounds” breaks out the same cascading drums and barely-there vocals as “Feel it Out” , but things are a bit darker, more sinister this time around- blame it on the weather. It’s a flattering (and seasonable) change for these guys, [...]

VISI ☼NS :: JULY 2010 MIXTAPE :: BOY ATTRACTIONS with summer slowly winding down, we’ve all seemed to be in a funk here this past week on tumblr. it’s no secret; blogs and music lovers adore summer, and it’ll be sad to see it go. but i see no reason not to embrace the change from humidity to cooler weather, leaf color changing, halloween, returning to school; there are plenty of things to look forward to. but summer is still here. and for our july mixtape, [...]
Port City broadcast sandy tunes from Pensecola, deep within Florida’s panhandle. They’ve only got two tracks up on their bandcamp , but each one is a glorious (and seasonally fitting) slice of glo-fi/dream pop. The watery synths on “Feel It Out” are doing wonders for me in this awful humidity- it’s times like these I wish I had a swimming pool.
