Mark Lanegan's Blues Funeral comes out today, and if you couldn't tell how excited we were to feature an exclusive album preview this past week and you somehow thrilled we were to host the Mark Lanegan Band live this morning from the Cutting Room Studios in NYC, go back and listen to the performance again later today on our Live Performances Archive and you can practically hear John Richards' head explode when Mark calls him "bro." Awesome. Though Mark Lanegan lives in sunnier southern climes now, he's definitely a legend of Northwest [...]

Pretty Good Dance Moves are pretty, pretty, pretty... well, fair to middling, actually. When musicians inform their emerging audience that their new 'opus du magnifique' LIMO is "a series of movements" (crazily entitled "First" through "Eighth") which must be listened to "as one piece", the Fun-o-Meter doesn't exactly implode with anticipation. "Oh it's mostly instrumental...and there are no silly 'pop' singles either". One might therefore be forgiven for quickly scribbling fake eyes onto their eyelids in biro, politely asking the person beside them to "Wake me up when...

Pretty Good Dance Moves are about to release their new full length album, Limo, on February 7, which is divided between 8 different magical Movements. PGDM: We are excited to get on the road and out of NYC for a minute. You know the best part about leaving is coming back. I've been locked in the studio all winter working [...]

Whew, now THIS is a big ass week of music releases. You have a ton of big albums from all corners of the indie rock world hitting the streets today, so pretty much everyone should be able to find something the love in what is hitting the streets today. Of course, for myself, I couldn't be more pumped about the return of Superchunk and their new one Majesty Shredding , though I also recommend giving The Walkmen's new one Lisbon and Black Mountain's Wilderness [...]

Remember the '80s? Seems these days certain music scenes won't let you forget it. And Pretty Good Dance Moves are pure, unadulterated, synthy '80s pop. Their track "Bad Habits," featuring Lissy Trullie, evokes images of what Depeche Mode might have sounded like if they'd been fronted by a woman. Check it out with a free download!
