Canadian time traveler Vespers is a glitch hop pioneer who's been producing songs and mastering the art of EDM training for years. His latest EP is a three track sampler of his glitchy skills and cool, funky style, and here it for your listening pleasure. If you love grooving to the warm productions of Pretty Lights, you'll feel right at home listening to Vespers' similarly jazzy atmosphere and crisp sound (particularly "Who's Your Daddy" & "Let's Get Gangster.") When the occasional saxophone cracks a solo, prepare yourself for the incredible sound of rolling, icy glitch-bliss delivered by every [...]

Today, the homie Michal Menert released his much anticipated sophomore album, Even If It Isn't Right through the Pretty Lights Music label. I can't tell you how much I love this dude, but I can tell you that he's been slaving away for months trying to complete this project. I've been lucky enough to call this dude a friend and had the privilege of sharing the stage with him on a few occasions. It's rare these days to meet someone as passionate about music as Michal Menert. Seriously though, homeboy lives, eats, sleeps and bleeds an infectious passion for music. Throughout the album, Menert blends a [...]
It might be a bit of a stretch to crown a new 'midwest festival king' since Lollapalooza has quickly become one of the biggest shows out there, but North Coast has a lineup that should satisfy a range of EDM listeners. Pretty Lights, Axwell, Steve Angello, Steve Aoki, Excision, Alesso, Mord Fustang are some of the announced names in the first wave. The festival takes place over Labor Day weekend, August 31st to September 2nd, which is also the same dates as Electric Zoo . Tickets for the three days are only $110 for general admission and $350 for [...]

The 1 st edition of A Stoner's Guide on Beats to Blaze to , featuring mostly hip hop, was a major failure, so I said fuck it for the second edition the following year... well, it was a failure up until StumbleUpon got a hold of it about six months back. Apparently, there's a whole lotta stoners on StumbleUpon because that shit shut down my site several times. So in tribute, I decided to start it back up and go from a hip-hop theme [...]

This weekend is Coachella Part Deux. Tickets went on sale and sold faster than when you play casino or blackjack . My question is whether any of the acts will change their sets or just stick to what they did last week. Some of my favorites included Pulp and Wild Flag. Carrie Brownstein and company shredded the evening stage and Jarvis Cocker is a better frontman than most people give him credit for. I haven't seen anything about their being a live stream this weekend, however, I'm a convert. Enjoying the festival from your [...]

North Coast Music Festival , arguably the third largest and most popular Chicago fest following Lollapalooza and Pitchfork Music Fest, announced it's initial lineup earlier this week. The festival goes down in Union Park - the same park Pitchfork will take over a few weeks earlier - on Labor Day weekend, which is Friday, August 31, through Sunday, September 2. The lineup was revealed via a Groupon on early Tuesday morning that offered a three-day pass for only $62 and promptly sold out. Past lineups have leaned more towards [...]

The Mac-Daddy of hop and swag, Pretty Lights cannot disappoint. This set raised the bar for what anyone can play at an electronic show. You know you're big-time when you got 3000 people swaying without uttering a word. P&Bers, please have a listen to what was maybe the greatest night of my 23rd year of my life. Keep in mind these are all PL originals. Tracklist: 1. Hot Like Sauce 2. Lonesome Street [...]
Pretty lights is nothing new, but many popular and upcoming artist have used them as an essential component in their mixes. Many people are unaware that this song was the original track that included, what would be, the vocals for Avicii's "Levels" and Florida's "Good Feelin". This original mix of "Finally Moving" is a great song to chill out to. So sit back, relax, and enjoy. Pretty Lights-Finally Moving (original)

This is, at it states, a remix album. If you're looking for soothing folk music, go listen to something else. However, if you like raves, club music, dubstep, hip hop, trance, or any other form of electronic music, check this out. Each of them have numerous collaborators: members of the Doors, Martha Reeves, The Funk Brothers, Leann Rimes, Dr. Ralph Stanley, Erykah Badu, Trombone Shorty, Mos Def, Zigaboo Modeliste, members of the DAP Kings, Nas, and the Berklee Symphony Orchestra. Those names [...]
Released off of Pretty Lights Music , Gramatik presents his latest EP, #digitalfreedom. The new EP features a more bass heavy Gramatik, a bit different from his usual laid back electronic hip hop based tunes. The Brooklyn based DJ is dedicating this EP to the fight against severe internet censorship bills. The hope is that it can somehow raise awareness and help to regulate the governments influence on the internet. That being said, The whole EP is available for FREE by clicking here . Gramatik is currently co-headlining a tour across the US with Break Science that hits [...]

"You had one job projector guy and ya blew it!" Aight, Shout out to the P&B massive. I'm diving right in cuz there are just so many artists to cover. Let us begin. Martin Solveig My boy and I had just walked in and amidst scoping out the joint, we walked into Martin Solveig mid-set. Yeah, we know "Hello", but he was playing some of that fierce Dirty Dutch music. Definitely woke us up from our real world [...]

Through out the next week or so I'll be rolling out some features on this past weekend at Ultra Music Festival. A city that was build in vice's Miami really came alive during Winter Music Conference and Miami Music Week. The highlight of Friday Night was most definitely Pretty Lights closing out Day 1 of Ultra. Going against an artist like Tiesto was perfect, there was ample room and Derek smashed his set. The biggest setback to Ultra was that it ends at midnight. But from 11 to 12 he made the most of his set. [...]

Re:Generation Music Project (2012) : Official So glad they decided to stream this ONLINE and for FREE to the PUBLIC. I may or may not do a review for this. We'll see. It's actually more important to us that you take something positive about music discovery and creation from this film. Don't dwell too much about why they paired up certain artists with other artists. Just enjoy the music and it's process... Nativity
