Next Tuesday marks the beginning of the end for millions of Lost fans who will tune in for the show's final season. A few hundred lucky fans will be surrounded by like minded individuals at a sold out Bell House to watch the show and party immediately following with the musical stylings of Previously On Lost , a band who has spent the last few years writing songs to recap what happened on Lost. The idea of "recap rock", as they call it, is something that has caught the eye of more than a few [...]
Anamanaguchi [ Official Site , MySpace ] is perhaps the rarest thing today in indie music: they are original. And not the "we are experimental because we make horribly grating noises that nobody else has ever heard before" kind of original. No, Anamanaguchi are the kick ass sort of original. 8-bit arena rock power pop original. Combine Weezer with an old Nintendo and some Red Bull sort of kick ass. The band was awesome enough to sit down with Radio Exile at Vassar College a short while back. [...]

I'm underwhelmed with the selection of shows tomorrow. This week is really end-heavy, so you may want to rest up now for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, etc. Even though I don't like Mercury Lounge, though, this show ought to be pretty good. Malajube is a French-Canadian indie band that sings in French, and Previously On Lost is a band that plays songs about Lost, the television program. Malajube's latest album was pretty bad, but their previous album was excellent. Previously On Lost puts on a really fun show. Should be a good night of music overall. You can check [...]

Hello My Name Is Jumpin Justin Anamanaguchi Previously On Lost Previously On Lost Previously On Lost Plenty more photos on Flickr . Anamanaguchi *Best 8-bit rock band out there *Super charming nerdy hipster guys *Great taste in shirts (lead guitarist was [...]
We have a ticket giveaway for our NYC readers to see Previously on Lost play at Public Assembly in Williamsburg on Saturday, June 6th w/ Anamanaguchi, Lionshare and Ninjasonik. The band has finally gotten notice from ABC and has been hired to write a recap for the season 5 finale that will also be turned into a music video using footage from the Untangled show that discusses the mysteries of

When Jason Glastetter reported that Lost tribute band Previously on Lost was hired by ABC to record for the television phenom, we had to find out exactly what this meant. They couldn't replace that awesome theme song, could they? We took a few moments with one half of POL, Adam Schatz, to ask what exactly the band's responsibilities would include. Adam explained that they were hired to record for ABC's web series, Lost Untangled . The series, which recaps each episode comedically using action [...]

Previously on Lost, the band who have been writing songs recapping various episodes of Lost for a while now, are actually going to soon be in bed with ABC. Yep, the network have hired the Brooklyn band to record a recap of season five. If that wasn't enough for you, Previously on Lost are taking the show on the road with a string of east coast tour dates. Last night I headed over to the Lost season 5 finale party at Bell House, at which my favorite recap band was playing. That's right, Previously On Lost. I had the pleasure of seeing them at the season 5 premiere party, also at Bell House, earlier this year. This time they obviously had a few new songs from season 5, so that was fun to see. Man, I really wish that I could see them perform before
Ok, so I have two more awesome ticket giveaways for our NYC readers:1. The Americans at Joe's Pub this Saturday, May 9th. The Americans are a funk(ish) group and Joe's Pub is a pretty chic venue, so treat yourself to a fun night out with 2 tickets to this awesome show. To enter, email us with "Proud to see The Americans" in the subject line (cheesy, I know but that's what my brain is coming up

I don't quit. I merely quote you the lyrics of Sister Sledge. Bob Dylan holds them in such high regard he plays this track immediately before taking the stage each night on his never-ending tour. (ahem....cough....etc). Aye right. There's a fine line between madness and genius and brilliance and shite, and I think I may have just (very belatedly) discovered the musical threshold by which an artist can cross over from one side to the other. I say ' belatedly ' because the following tracks have mostly been floating about the ether for [...]
by roko The Family Time moniker is taking on new challenges in 2009. In '08 the group brought you their debut album, Previously on Lost : The Tale of Season 4 and Oceanic Six. Now they've completed their second full length and it just so happens to be a space-opera inspired by the theories of Carl Sagan. Family Time's Adam Schatz gave us the low down first hand: The Family Time group is an amalgamation of many projects, the completed albums of [...]
On Wednesday night I had the privilege of being a part of something very special - a Lost season premiere watching party at the Bell House, before which the band Previously on Lost played. If you don't know, Previously on Lost is a recap band - the first and at this point only recap band, in fact. What does that mean you ask? It means that most (if not all) of their songs are recaps of various

A few weeks ago, a little band going by the name Previously on Lost contacted IA about their music and I immediately gasped in blithesome intrigue. Perhaps this makes me bias, but as a massive fan of ABC's Lost , listening to peppy, indie pop about island horrors and watery shenanigans is exactly how I want to spend the time I am not spending in front of my TV re-watching seasons 1-3 of the series. So, here's my hearty fist pump and joyful "God bless you!" to the band members for taking on a sub-genre project like [...]

I neglected to mention how earlier this week that Phoebe, Nicci and I went to see "Recap Rock" band Previously On Lost at Spaceland. If you are unfamiliar with the band, they are a group of nerds from Brooklyn who write songs that recap Lost episodes. The concept seemed intriguing. Unfortunately, the few song samples I heard on MySpace left much to be desired. The band's set was quite entertaining. They passed out leis, they had two band members dressed in Dharma Initiative jumpsuits, there was a giant cut-out of J.J. Abrams' head, and even a few inflatable [...]
The birth of a genre is a rare thing. In this day and age, most new concepts are simply a bridge of two pre-existing ideas with a teeny little hyphen. With Brooklyn's Previously On Lost , an epic and original genre is born: Recap Rock. And Taking Tiger Mountain has an exclusive download courtesy of the band. Previously On Lost spent the 4th season of Lost writing tunes inspired by each episode after they aired. Now that the show is done for the season, they've taken the full set of [...]

DOWNLOAD: Previously On Lost, "Just Wink" [mp3] For people with their heads on straight, November 2008 takes a back seat to January 2009 — when Lost launches into its fifth season. Oh, how we simmer with anticipation! How the imponderable expanse of the next six months stretches out before us and mocks our weekly travails! Thank Jacob we have bands staffed by dorks as devout as we are to help us survive this interminable famine of serialized emotional pandering and kitschy weirdness. Thank Jacob for PREVIOUSLY ON LOST . Ex-Bostonian Adam Schatz and [...]
