How exactly do you remix songs by California surf pop band Princeton ? Well, TEETH and Drugg have given over their treatments to the band's 'To the Alps'. The new version by TEETH makes Princeton sound, dare I say it, like Foster the People. Drugg's remix takes a while to get going, but it sounds completely different from the original, in a good way. Warm Weather are a Los Angeles group of recent college grads with an excellent debut EP, Dances. A Ballerina, a police chase that leads to one brutal beating all add up to Santa Monica based collective Princeton giving us some very dark NSFW visuals for there b side lead single "Electrician" featuring Active Child . The track is also a Walker Brothers cover and if this is all too disturbing of a view, you can check out the dance friendly A side " To The Alps " to lighten the mood.
If nothing else, the new video from Santa Monica-bred indie quartet Princeton solved one mystery for me: Whatever happened to Active Child ? Harp-wielding Pat Grossi seemed poised to take over the indie universe last year, and there was talk of an album early this year. (It apparently needed more TLC, because now the as-yet-untitled album is scheduled for Aug. 23.) But this is Princeton's bit, and there is Grossi starring in directors T.S. He's one of my favorite directors, but it looks like he's been focusing on commercials more and more. Revocation has debuted the track "Cradle Robber" from their new album "Chaos of Forms" via the band's Facebook and MySpace pages. The band has also recently posted an in-studio clip filmed during the recording of "Chaos of Forms." Italian duo OvO have just unleashed their first official video , filmed for the track "Marie," which falls from the band's latest full-length "Cor Cordium."
