New Song : Sleeping Bags : Park Not to be confused with the recently-featured Sleeping Bag, Sleeping Bags is a side-project from the Brothers Kivel, the fellas behind MOKB faves , Princeton. Park finds the Kivel Kidz still contently playing in the hyperliterate pop sandbox we've grown accustom to, but with volumes, revers and intensities all upped a notch. Nothing life changing, but always good to hear new music from these guys. MP3 : Sleeping Bags - Park

Princeton 'To The Alps' (:Kinema: Remix)

http://soundcloud.com/kinema/p rinceton-to-the-alps-kinemaIt' s a remix by :Kinema: of Princeton's lovely To The Alps, and comes hot on the heels of their remix of Jesse Kivel's other project Kisses, and Kinema's Dominic Ashton described it as..."Partly an attempt to make a kind of twee-indie-disco version of Coma Cat by Tensnake (in a good, referential and respectful way, rather than in a bad,

Princeton: To The Alps (:kinema: remix) Check out the :kinema remix of Princeton 's To The Alps. It's partly an attempt to make a kind of twee-indie-disco version of Coma Cat by Tensnake (in a good, referential and respectful way, rather than in a bad, copying and stealing way). I'm tired of every song being deemed "a song for summer," so I'll instead deem this a swath of rain that on the radar looks like a heart, and it's not even Valentine's Day. So light a fire with your loved one, with or without a fireplace and use this remix [...]

Our favourite Brigton smooth DiscoPop dudes :kinema: are back with a brand new reMix of LA Indie band Princeton 's 'To The Alps'. No having heard the original I can't compare it but I do know that :kinema:'s soulful electronic Pop sends this track into smooth heaven. With some interesting instrumentation :kinema:'s commented that the track is " Partly an attempt to make a kind of twee-indie-disco version of Coma Cat by Tensnake (in a good, referential and respectful way, rather than in a bad, copying and stealing way ) ". Princeton 'To The Alps' (:kinema: remix)

Kinema are a trio from Brighton (Brighton is on the English riveria, or the coast in case your not familiar) it would be fair to assume that if you live by the sea you have a slightly different outlook on life. More laissez faire. This is characterised by their latest remix of LA band Princeton and their 'To The Alps' - it's warm, fun and has just enough disco for you to tap to. We like. Grab it for free too. Princeton To The Alps (:kinema: remix) by :kinema: [...]

Princeton – To The Alps (:Kinema: Remix) A chillin' remix by :Kinema: of LA Princeton 's lovely single, "To The Alps". The band describes their remix as "partly an attempt to make a kind of twee-indie-disco version of Coma Cat by Tensnake. In a good, referential and respectful way, rather than in a bad, copying and stealing way." What can I say? They did a wonderful job. Princeton have a new EP out on August 15. MP3(s) of the Day #360: Princeton

How exactly do you remix songs by California surf pop band Princeton ? Well, TEETH and Drugg have given over their treatments to the band's 'To the Alps'. The new version by TEETH makes Princeton sound, dare I say it, like Foster the People. Drugg's remix takes a while to get going, but it sounds completely different from the original, in a good way. Listen to and download them below and let us know what you think.

Warm Weather :: "The Dance"

Warm Weather are a Los Angeles group of recent college grads with an excellent debut EP, Dances. In the spirit of other esoteric, somewhat baroque pop acts like Vampire Weekend and fellow Angelinos, Princeton, Warm Weather drape swelling arrangements in layers of vocal harmonies and enough poly-rhythmic influences to make everyone have to use the proper noun, "Paul Simon". Lead track, "The Dance"

ML has always dabbled in stuff that isn't just the rappity raps and Meg will lead the charge in getting ML readers hip to all sorts of new things. Be on the lookout for her proper introduction tomorrow. Lastly, don't confuse Meg with MegH, who turned out to be ML's own Detox of sorts after such a buzzworthy entrance. Two weekends ago [...]

Princeton ft. Active Child| “Electrician&# 8221; [Video]

Princeton - The Electrician (ft. Active Child)
A Ballerina, a police chase that leads to one brutal beating all add up to Santa Monica based collective Princeton giving us some very dark NSFW visuals for there b side lead single "Electrician" featuring Active Child . The track is also a Walker Brothers cover and if this is all too disturbing of a view, you can check out the dance friendly A side " To The Alps " to lighten the mood.

Video: Princeton, 'The Electrician'

Princeton - The Electrician (ft. Active Child)
If nothing else, the new video from Santa Monica-bred indie quartet Princeton solved one mystery for me: Whatever happened to Active Child ? Harp-wielding Pat Grossi seemed poised to take over the indie universe last year, and there was talk of an album early this year. (It apparently needed more TLC, because now the as-yet-untitled album is scheduled for Aug. 23.) But this is Princeton's bit, and there is Grossi starring in directors T.S. Pfeffer and Robert McHugh's video for the deliciously dark tune "The Electrician." The song is the B-side [...]

The 7 Best Videos Of The Week

JAMES BLAKE - LINDISFARNE
This week we've got new clips from Depeche Mode, James Blake, Beyoncé, Calvin Harris, Princeton, and Alcoholic Faith Mission. The Depeche Mode clip is directed by Patrick Daughters. He's one of my favorite directors, but it looks like he's been focusing on commercials more and more. The Alcoholic Faith Mission video has been out for a while, but I thought it'd be nice to include it along with Blake's video. They both show how rituals provide comfort or satisfy curiosity. Watch all the clips below: Read More...

News: Quick Hits: Revocation, OvO, Sin Fang, Princeton, We Only Said

Revocation has debuted the track "Cradle Robber" from their new album "Chaos of Forms" via the band's Facebook and MySpace pages. The band has also recently posted an in-studio clip filmed during the recording of "Chaos of Forms." Italian duo OvO have just unleashed their first official video , filmed for the track "Marie," which falls from the band's latest full-length "Cor Cordium." Inspired by horror b-movies, the "Marie" video was shot in the belly of Berlin's fetish/bondage performance scene under the supervision of Italian director/filmmaker Mauro Diciocia. [...]

Mp3-pack, Remixes Dept.: Alexander (White Arrows), Young The Giant (Two Door Cinema Club), Princeton (Kinema) [Three remixes of three local artists to pump you up for the week ahead...] Alexander , "Truth (White Arrows Remix)" – Alexander, the solo project of Alex Ebert (Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros), gets remixed by L.A. band White Arrows (and Bootleg Theater residents this month). The original "Truth" is whimsically filled with whistling, but White Arrows, playing on the lyrical references to "darkness," have given the song a heavy, ominous underpinning. Young [...]
