Hard Fest recently announced that M.I.A. will headline shows in both Los Angeles and in New York City this summer. The dates are particularly well-timed, given that M.I.A.'s third studio album is tentatively slated for a June release. Last January, M.I.A. took to Twitter to leak a new track, "There's Space For Ol Dat I See", produced by Rusko (listen to it below). We're hoping that this new collaboration will manifest itself on stage this summer, which isn't too farfetched - Diplo was M.I.A.'s official DJ on the People vs. Money tour in 2008. [...]
I love Animal Collections and Vamped Weekday as much as the next fella, but I gotta make some time for our rock vets, too. Echo & The Bunnymen have been consistently making records for the past thirty years, and influencing your favorite bands for just as long. The band brought a catchy, undeniable side to the world of post-punk, and left a moody impression on the world of rock that's here to

Proxy is a Soviet and his name basically resonates throughout the Dance world as being synonymous with Heavy Ass Fucking Electro. In fact, he probably makes the Heaviest Assiest Fuckingest Electro out there. Sometimes it's a little much for me, but the dude does a great job at making his sound, and I've got to say I really do want to see him live, I'm sure it'd be a fucking mad house. He's on Tiga 's label Turbo. -M 8000 - Proxy This shit is awesome. [...]

The Chromeo remix of Tiga's "What You Need" has finally made its way out and about in the blogosphere and definitely adds a whole new sound to an already badass track. Although it's not a total face melter like the previously released remix by the Proxy (which I think is actually better than the original) but it holds it's own and conveys a totally unique vibe that's unmistakably Chromeo. I'm looking forward to the full release of the EP to hear the Steve Aoki and Atrak remixes but personally i don't see how either of them are gonna bring anything [...]

If you can recall the last time you heard of Proxy , you might have heard about the new record label he had in the works. From his own mouth this label has been "the product of three years of research, planning and deepest soul-searching." Proxy is undoubtedly proud to present the first release on his new label, Mako Records . This release finds itself not too far away from Proxy's soundscape, with music from fellow Russian producer, Marseille . The EP features the grimy distorted synths and [...]
I've got this strange feeling that there are some grimy vacayers out there that are either not taking their vitamins or just not getting the right ones. Now as a Board Certified Terrorizer with a PhD is Bassology, I want to warn you that these vitamins should be taken at a higher dose than prescribed and abused as much as possible. First up on my prescription list, is a track from my fellow Board Certified Terrorizer, Doctor P from the UK. Doctor P Doctor P - [...]

After 2 months of painstaking research at our headquarters somewhere in max's backyard near the ostrich looking tree, we have made a ground breaking discovery. It appears as if Vacay is not a state of mind but rather the 12th dimension. Some may say that this is crazy but if the 11-d theory can arise as the strong-coupling limit of a 10-d string theory, it is itself weakly coupled in its own right. Now we can not explicitly explain our findings yet, but we now have a better idea on how to develop vitamins allowing you to "enter" and experience [...]

the mould is a producer from the land of the hammer and sickle (russia for those who don't know) who was rated by the intensely heavy and just a tad distorted proxy as one russian producer to look out for, the mould has a pretty empty myspace so like most of the russian producers i.e. polymorphic , marseille we don't know much about these guys but the tunes speak for themselves, and if you are into the heavy unrelenting sounds be sure to check the mould. The Mould - getto [...]

I'm a bit late with this post but nevermind, i'm happy i finally finished it :) When thinking about the year 2009 i have to say that it was a great year for me personally. When talking about music it was a hectic year and truly inspiring. I changed quite a bit musically. I started listening to more dubstep, and not just me, whole world got crazy for dubstep (hint: Skreams remix of La Roux). Electro/nu rave/fidget is still great but there's also a lot garbage showing up more and more. When i wanted to put up my top 10/20/something [...]

Suicide Sundaes – stop your grinnin' and drop your linen. Every Sunday electblake and jsully of Earmilk will bring you the weeks dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn't care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. To hell with sketchy sunday, we want to shove another dragon down the hole. Welcome to another Sunday night and another excuse to jump up and throw down. This week [...]

Rewind it back with some remixes and fast forward to a teaser for an insane track 'intruder' as well as a 'massive' mix tape! ATTACK 1985 - MASSIVE mix I first found ATTACK 1985 when checking out 'Peanuts Club' remixes. I then rediscovered ATTACK 1985 when RAPTOR played out their 'Intruder' single live in California! 'Intruder,' which isn't out yet is teasing it's way across the interwebs as we all wait for the Juno/Beatport etc release! Enjoy the video below. ATTACK 1985 - Intruder (Teaser) from [...]
THE PROXY-WHO ARE YOU (Splashed brains remix) by SPLASHED BRAINS

Alot has changed since I last made a post about Shaved Monkeys . They have a new track coming up called "Get Rough" and as you can hear in the preview, the track name was well chosen. The track starts of with a nice melody/intro interrupted by a badass vocal which is then, on his turn, followed by a quality raw rave electro tune. Their new track is already getting supported by names such as Stereoheroes, Mustard Pimp, NT89, Soda 'n Suds and Aerotronic. Shaved Monkeys - Get Rough (TEASER) Extra: [...]

2009 has treated the electro genre marvelously. It is difficult to attach a specific electro sound to 2009 - electro was all over the place. There is resurgence, solidification, experimentation, and birth of various electro genres. As WDPK's previous lists are fashioned, below is a wrap up of not only WDPK's top 10 electro songs of 2009 but reflections of the artists and their positions in 2010. I'm excited, are you? 10) Renaissance Man - Aloha Downtown and Jaxxon (Renaissance Man) are going to be a [...]
