Phish is playing at Bonnaroo on Friday and Sunday, but Pitchfork (by and through posters Tom Breihan and Amy Phillips) is not excited about it. Instead of the Phish set on Friday, the Pitchfork Guide directs you to Phoenix and Public Enemy (we actually recommend a similar move on our recommened list ). The more interesting Pitchfork choice comes on Sunday when there is no other band playing but Phish. I've seen Phish before, but I'm still going to check them out to close out the fest. The 2nd annual Roots Picnic took place in Philadelphia, PA this past Saturday, June 6th. The day long festival was curated by The Roots included performances by Santigold, Kid Cudi, TV On The Radio, Public Enemy, and two sets from The Roots themselves. Santigold pretty much stole the show with her new live band and a special guest spot from Philly hometown hero Spank Rock. Tomorrow I'll be tripping down to Philadelphia to attend The Roots Picnic , an all-day affair masterminded by Jimmy Fallon's sidemen (haha, jk guys) and featuring two sets by the band; TV On The Radio, Santigold, and Antibalas are also on the bill.
