We are really hating the direction Kate Nash has taken as we totally loved her first album. We get that she wants to fulfill her artistic vision, but it's just not delivering the goods. Excuse Lesley Stahl's cartoonish intro. It's clear 60 minutes isn't used to profiling punk rock bands, imprisoned, feminist punks from Russia, or otherwise. In setting the stage for her story on Pussy Riot, Stahl clearly had our delicate American sensibilities in mind: The young women have become the poster girls of Russian dissent, unlikely considering they're a punk band on YouTube that makes lewd gestures in cartoonish get-ups. The latest episode of 60 Minutes featured an exclusive interview with "Kot", the drummer of Russian collective Pussy Riot , who was involved in the protest at Moscow’s Christ the Saviour Cathedral last year. The Vivian Girls played a rare show February 15 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. They hadn't performed in NYC since last year, in the freezing cold, at a Kate Spade pop-up shop in the meat packing district. The film titled, Pussy Riot - A Punk Prayer , premiered over the weekend at Sundance Film Festival.
