LuiDiamonds – “Goodwilled” F. Andre McCloud, Pyramid Vritra & KC 2.0 [Potholes Premiere]

LuiDiamonds – “Goodwilled” F. Andre McCloud, Pyramid Vritra & KC 2.0 [Potholes Premiere] The killer tracks just keep comin' for the Nobody Really Knows (NRK) collective. The latest is from Atlanta-based producer LuiDiamonds, who's gearing up to release his new album Ipadchain . Yes, that's the awesome artwork above and  yes , the lead single, "Goodwilled", is ill as hell. With LD's funky production in the pocket, the track rides out with quick-witted verses from Andre McCloud , Pyramid Vritra , and KC 2.0 . Expect the remainder of  Ipadchain to follow this cut's lead, as it'll be like LD's own version of  The Neptunes Present... Clones . [...]

Pyramid Vritra & Tyler Major - '1322/Rainbow' [Listen]

Pyramid Vritra & Tyler Major - '1322/Rainbow' [Listen] Here is a new tune from LA hip-hop collective Nobody Really Knows members Pyramid Vritra and Tyler Major called '1322/Rainbow'. The duo's laid back flow compliments the two-part track that switches from chilly 80's synths to a R&B-laced jazzy vibe.

Pyramid Vritra & Tyler Major – “1322/Rainbow”

It was just yesterday that we posted a pair of wildly different new Pyramid Vritra tracks . But he returns today with a new collaboration with fellow NRK member Tyler Major . "1322/Rainbow" is a two-part song that kicks off with hectic production and flow-switching raps. But within two minutes, it gives way to a buttery R&B-tinged romp laced with an infectious hook and brass. Peep 'em blow. [ via ]

Pyramid Vritra – “Mids” & “100ft”

Genres? We don't care about no fuckin' genres! I imagine those thoughts run through the head of an artist like Pyramid Vritra , aka Hal Williams, whenever he decides to record a new track. To be fair, his cuts tend to be dreamy, synth-heavy works, like his two latest releases. That being said, "Mids" and "100ft" are worlds apart in their approach. The former is a tripped-out psych-pop romp while the latter is a mild club-ready jam. Oh, it's FONKY, too. [ via ] RELATED: The 50 Most Anticipated [...]

BigCat – Comatose [Album] [Potholes Premiere]

We were introduced to up-and-coming British Columbia producer BigCat last month when we heard his collaboration with Potholes Music's own Jay Cue . Since then, the Canuck has been wrapping up his new album,  Comatose , which we're proud to premiere to y'all today. It finds him linking with a slew of artists we've posted here at Potholes, including Pyramid Vritra , Caleb Stone , and KC 2.0 , all of whom ride warm, sometimes menacing beds of synthesizers and crunchy drums. What I'm saying is that you really should hear this [...]

Summer Camp – City

Summer Camp – City I had a lot going on this summer, but that's no excuse for missing Summer Camp 's unexpected tie-up with an Odd Future rapper, the third track from their current EP,  Always .  But only now am I discovering thisd delicious, rich pop song, a fizzy hoot starring Elizabeth Sankey's exhilarating voice, bold beats and, suddenly, Pyramid Vritra 's muttered storytelling.  He and Sankey couldn't sound any more different, but still it works, it works, it so thrillingly works...

Mixtape: Caleb Stone – “Sleepy Bitches”

Mixtape: Caleb Stone – “Sleepy Bitches” Instrumental tapes can be a tough sell; knowing that, producer Caleb Stone seems to have taken cues from producers like Clams Casino and TNGHT, cramming every inch of space on his mixtape Sleepy Bitches with mysterious sounds, atmospheric wails, and plenty of bass. His remix of singer Bago 's "I Forget You" recasts a sultry rejection of an old lover into a disjointed wall of sound fitted with speaker consuming low end, while opening track "HORSE DAYTONA" incorporates disjointed vocals and distorted instruments to memorable effect. Check Caleb's "I Forget You" remix and "HORSE DAYTONA" out below, [...]

Pyramid Vritra – Pyramid [Album]

Pyramid Vritra – Pyramid [Album] Although Odd Future/Nobody Really Knows' Pyramid Vritra has dropped several solo efforts over the past year and a half, they all served as a build up to his proper full-length debut. That would be  Pyramid , a 13-track release boasting what he describes as "whimsical, dreamy, technical, simi-lethargic, experimental anger pop." He recorded the project over the course of the past two years, during which he collaborated with Gary Wilson, Frisco (aka Syd Tha Kyd) , Speak!, and Matt Martians , among others, for the synth-driven opus. You can download [...]

Pyramid Vritra – “Drain” F. Frisco (aka Syd Tha Kyd)

Pyramid Vritra – “Drain” F. Frisco (aka Syd Tha Kyd) Pyramid Vritra is the alias/alter-ego of Hal Williams, who you might know as half Odd Future's Jet Age of Tomorrow . As Vritra, he makes forward-thinking, ethereal hip-hop with a soulful bent. That's particularly evident on "Drain", the lead single off his upcoming  Pyramid album that features guest vocals from Frisco, aka Syd Tha Kyd  of the Internet . She's an airy, choice complement to Vritra's baritone, proving that we need to hear more from these two. You can watch the track's narrative-focused visuals below.

Pyramid Vritra – Scopolomine [Compilation]

Pyramid Vritra – Scopolomine [Compilation] OK, the music gods have again blessed us today. Rapper-producer Pyramid Vritra teamed with Odd Future Talk to put together a compilation of previously unreleased  tunes from his solo discography  and his stuff as part of Jet Age of Tomorrow.  Scopolomine features 10 tracks in total and the best part about this? You can hear a preview of his new album,  Pyramid , by checking out "Drain", which features Frisco aka Syd Tha Kyd. Yeah. Download: Pyramid Vritra -  Scopolomine [Mediafire] Track [...]

Pyramid Murdock, Andre McCloud, Gloomy Pyramid & Pyramid Vritra – “Hotel” [Potholes Premiere] We're proud to present the premiere of a new posse cut, "Hotel", from the Nobody Really Knows collective as a collaboration with our friends over at Rap Genius . In addition to listening to the track right here, you can head over to Rap Genius to get some insight on the lyrics from Andre McCloud, Gloomy Pyramid, Pyramid Vritra , and Pyramid Murdock themselves. As for the track itself, "Hotel" is another synth-and-keys-heavy jam from the NRK crew, who seem to get better with every new tune they release. There's something in the water down in [...]

[Best of 2011] Will’s List

[Best of 2011] Will’s List Tweet vaso link This has been a fantastic year, not only for music, but also for me personally. I found an outlet for gratuitous and utterly pointless swearing (Fuck yeah!) in the world of indie music blogging. And Andy and Dave were nice enough to deal with these random outbursts and generous enough to give me a creative outlet (outside of my daily world of print journalism). So with that, I present my top 10 albums list of [...]

Pyramid Vritra ‘The Story Of Marsha Lotus’ Pyramid Vritra released his debut LP this Monday and we can’t get enough of it. Video: Pyramid Vritra, “Blu Diamonds”
