Here is a new tune from LA hip-hop collective Nobody Really Knows members Pyramid Vritra and Tyler Major called '1322/Rainbow'. The duo's laid back flow compliments the two-part track that switches from chilly 80's synths to a R&B-laced jazzy vibe.
It was just yesterday that we posted a pair of wildly different new Pyramid Vritra tracks . But he returns today with a new collaboration with fellow NRK member Tyler Major . "1322/Rainbow" is a two-part song that kicks off with hectic production and flow-switching raps. Genres? We don't care about no fuckin' genres! I imagine those thoughts run through the head of an artist like Pyramid Vritra , aka Hal Williams, whenever he decides to record a new track. To be fair, his cuts tend to be dreamy, synth-heavy works, like his two latest releases. That being said, "Mids" and "100ft" are worlds apart in their approach. Instrumental tapes can be a tough sell; knowing that, producer Caleb Stone seems to have taken cues from producers like Clams Casino and TNGHT, cramming every inch of space on his mixtape Sleepy Bitches with mysterious sounds, atmospheric wails, and plenty of bass. Although Odd Future/Nobody Really Knows' Pyramid Vritra has dropped several solo efforts over the past year and a half, they all served as a build up to his proper full-length debut. Pyramid Vritra is the alias/alter-ego of Hal Williams, who you might know as half Odd Future's Jet Age of Tomorrow . As Vritra, he makes forward-thinking, ethereal hip-hop with a soulful bent. That's particularly evident on "Drain", the lead single off his upcoming Pyramid album that features guest vocals from Frisco, aka Syd Tha Kyd of the Internet .
