This week saw the long awaited release, on Kitsuné Music , of a collaboration between two of our favourite producers. French Sci-Fi SynthWaver Pyramid has teamed up with fellow Parisian Disco don Crayon (who appears to have dropped the ‘Le’ from ‘Le Crayon’) to release a massive EP that is everything you’d expect when these two synthesizer worlds collide. Two of France's brightest electronic lights Crayon & Pyramid join forces for a new EP which is out today via Kitsune. You'll probably all be aware of Pyramid, but Crayon may need an introduction; he's a 21-year-old producer from Paris, who is also signed to Kitsune, but dabbles in more off-beat electro pop, quite different to Pyramid's neon-clad electronic vision of the future. We've never really associated Pyramid with remixes, but that's about to change with his remix of the new Two Door Cinema Club's new single 'Next Year'. The young French producer creates a subtle tapestry of chatty percussion, stirring strings and generally gives the track futuristic vibe letting the vocals do the work - it's certainly understated, but it actually works really well creating something akin to future folk.
