On September 25th, Rhode Island noise-rock duo Lightning Bolt will release a rarities collection entitled Oblivion Hunter via Load Records. The seven-track effort collects "lost" cuts recorded in 2008 and will be available digitally and on 123 vinyl. The five-minute opener "King Candy" is pure, overwhelming dissonance, manically combining heavy drums, distorted vocals, and heaps of fuzz that detonate with the power of a noise-rock A-bomb. Quasi have been around for nearly two decades, but the Portland duo are just as energetic as they've ever been. They're just two humans full of natural oddity, black humour, musical chops and fusion-powered tunes.
