So we typically toss a video onto a post when highlighting a new band or a show preview or something and let you draw your own conclusion about it. Sometimes we throw a change-up... strike that - let's call it a round up. Most of these videos are of bands we have previously talked about here on Draw Us Lines, so we won't be telling you much about those bands themselves, just some musings that really aren't worth a damn. If a picture is worth 1000 words, then a video must be worth a million. Hold on to your hats! [...]
Today's Rock it Out! Blog episode is hosted by Zach Hart from the website We Listen For You . He talks about the new album from The Walkmen, and promotes three bands: The Henry Clay People, Radical Dads and Hip Hatchet. He also has a rock music query of the day for you to answer. The Walkmen releasing new album The Henry Clay People Radical Dads Hip Hatchet

This post sponsored by Doritos Jacked . Doritos Jacked: So good you'll wish you were adopted. I went to SXSW again. I got to hang out with comedians. I saw some bands play music. Here are some pictures and some videos I took at the We Listen For You day show. Surprise guests arrived. It was fun. There was a giant vending machine. I had free Taco Bell. Kevin Barnes from Of Montreal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =tUld7EiSft0 [...]
About six months ago I started thinking about how to throw a unique SXSW showcase that would squarely place all attention on the music and give adventurous music fans an experience unlike any other. In order to accomplish this, I decided several guidelines would have to be in place. First, to fend off the buzz related nature of the festival that none of the bands/artists would be announced. This gives the unknown bands we champion and the acts that have a huge following the same value. Secondly, no signage or sponsors would be allowed, to act as [...]
Even if you did not attend SXSW, you must have heard about the giant Doritos vending machine/stage, free BBQ via pedicabs, homeless hotspots, The Boss' "you can do it" keynote or at least, A$AP Rocky's do-rag. No? Well it's easy to lose track of what's going on at SXSW and ...

Filed under: News , Monthly Mixtape Dusdin Condren, Elise Rasmussen, Collier Schorr January 2012 was weird. Newt Gingrich reinflated his balloon-man arms with super PAC cash, Beyonce and Jay-Z birthed the world's smallest overlord and Kim Dotcom became a Internet legend. With ever-growing evidence that the end of the world is nigh, we at Spinner have realized that life is too short to sweat the small stuff. So forget the daily hullabaloo and check [...]

![GIRLS, REAL ESTATE, FIELD MOUSE [SUGGESTED NYC CONCERTS]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3977962_lg.jpg)
Photo source: Girls As you might be able to tell, we're back from an extended blog-holiday! It sure feels good especially with the slew are rocking concerts hitting New York this week. Girls , Real Estate , and buzzier-than-thou King Krule all hit the same stage on Saturday night, while up-and-comers Field Mouse and Radical Dads stand out as other shows not to miss. Thanks for checking in on our suggested NYC concerts where we have a simple [...]

I could've made this list twice as long but I capped it at 50. Most of these are actual singles. The rest should be. Beyond the top ten, ordering is fairly arbitrary. Metronomy - The Look ( MP3 | Video ) I first heard this song back in February and I have yet to tire of it. I wish the keyboard solo outro lasted forever. Exlovers - Blowing Kisses ( MP3 | Video ) Rocking shoegaze pop of the highest order. [...]

Ava Luna at BV Holiday Party last month/year ( more by Jessica Amaya ) Wintersleep are going on a short North American tour this month which ends in 2 NYC dates happening on January 24 at Mercury Lounge with Pretty & Nice and January 25 at Glasslands with ARMS and Writer . Tickets for the Mercury show and the Glasslands show are on sale now. All Wintersleep dates are listed below. [...]

I waited till 2011 to finalize my albums list - all my lists - partially due to laziness, being busy, the holidays... but mainly because I'm not sure what the hurry is. I don't do this for the web traffic (clearly), so I gave myself a little more time to decide than usual. (And as long as this goes up before the Village Voice' s Pazz n' Jop, I don't feel delinquent.) So here's my list, the top five or so have been a lock for almost half a year, but the rest were in flux right till I [...]

It was the year of the reunion/comeback. So many big artists came back together to put out one more album. Maybe I'm just getting older and there are more bands under my belt who have the potential to reunite...but this honestly has to be the most reunions I can remember in awhile. The strongest outing by far was by The Cars...and they seemed to have the most stacked against them. Missing

There are plenty of new bands these days that merit comparisons to standard 90s bands, and Radical Dads surely fits that bill, but I will politely refrain from making those comparisons. Suffice it to say that if you like rock in the truest sense of the word, you will love Radical Dads . In the words of their song, "New Age Dinosaur": "I don't think so I know so / This is the future and the future is now! / I was listening and was told so / This is where we're headed, there's [...]

Filed under: News , Exclusive , The Hit List Wonderbread Tapes Cats were the "it" symbol of cool last year, especially in the indie-rock world . Best Coast , Wavves , the Klaxons and more capitalized on the trend, putting cats on album covers, in music videos and, as Lady Gaga did, even wearing a Hello Kitty dress. Tweet Listen to and download Radical Dads ' new song "Know-It-All" from their "Skateboard Bulldog" single. One of the best albums of 2011 was doing the rounds in mid-late 2010 and those of us who had it had a long wait on our hands until we were able to pimp the full thing. Radical Dads ' debut album "Mega Rama" was such [...]
