We're big fans of Tom Morello, best known as the guitarist for Rage Against The Machine. With Rage on indefinite hiatus, Morello has turned up in various incarnations: as part of Street Sweeper Social Club with rapper Boots Riley, and as the Nightwatchman. We chose to ignore the XXL Freshmen list, but that doesn't mean some of the dudes mentioned don't have skill. Showcasing said artists, XXL put out there first of a two part cypher series, which features Danny Brown, Roscoe Dash, Hopspin and Machine Gun Kelly. Obviously, Danny Brown kills it as the anchor, but I am still perplexed as to why they let some of these other guys rap so long. Machine Gun Kelly, yes, you. Otherwise, though, this turns out to be a delightful feature. Check it out and let us know who performed to your liking.
