I recently found out about Railcars , and he did this pretty awesome cover version of Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love" earlier this month on Crash Symbols (on cassette) and AMDiscs as a limited version vinyl. His sound is best described as noisey rock distortion, a little spacey, and at times wobbly- like I'm audibly losing my balance when listening. His songs aren't linear, rather they expand outward for what seems like forever. Covering a veritable masterpiece takes some serious moxie, but SF/LA-based Aria Jalali of railcars has done right in putting his own fuzz/noise electronic pop stamp on Kate Bush's Hounds of Love . Many musicians have attempted, and failed, to successfully master the art of the cover, and especially that of genius art-pop 80s goddess Kate Bush. But LA-based noise-rocker Aria Jalali, a.k.a. It is surprising to hear Railcars stripped down, without the terrifying noise and Aria Jalali's Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu) like shrieks. Said Sister covers a different side of Jalali's basement noise pop outfit, featuring two early tracks each with a different female vocalist.
