There's a point in Raime 's Told and Collapsed where a shriek is heard; it's so real I rewound and replayed the part to double check it wasn't... This song is eerie, and I love it. There's a menacing quality to it with a tremendous build up- a horror movie for your ears if you will. It also reminded of the music from 1994 Sega Genesis video game The Tick (particularly the levels with Sagin the Wolf.) Hennail is out now on Blackest Ever Black. Raime- [...]

[RSS Readers: See post to listen to audio] Many of you I know that read this blog have a great knowledge of music, most of what I share isn't new to you so I have to dig deep and one route I like to go is solo projects off bands I love. One thing I completely overlooked this year was this Steve Hauschildt record, it was under my nose all this time, he's a big part of the group Emeralds and runs Gneiss Things and it came out on Kranky which [...]

Just a quick heads up for those who happen to be in or around Berlin on November 11: Demdike Stare , Andy Stott, Tropic of Cancer and Emptyset will be playing live at the notorious Berghain alongside Milton Bradley, Raime and Opium Hum. This lineup is a no-brainer so be there if you can.

The debut release from Raime is an arty, post-dubstep treacle black delight. Details about ehe duo are as sparse as the bands fractured soundscapes. Released on Blackest Ever Black imprint the tracks embed themselves in your sub conscience like a nightmare of sleep on the nightbus home on a empty windswept winters night. There is something in the nagging electronic minimalism that calls to mind early Cabaret Voltaire if they had been raised in Croydon and not Sheffield. Beautiful echoes of the instrumental interludes of the This Mortal Coil LPs [...]

[RSS Readers: See post to listen to audio] I have 4 tracks today for you that you can completely get lost in. While i've been away on tour, i'm kicking myself for missing a few shows, one of them was this Light Asylum & Warm Ghost show. The flyer is amazing for this night. Warm Ghost has this great moody remix of Deerhunter's Lotus Plaza that i've been waiting to post, i'm loving this swelling feeling it gives off. Shigeto turned on onto Teebs , [...]

Raime UK duo Raime utilize minimal electronica to startling effect in what feels like an exploration of the inner murmurings of the psyche. Emanating from a hollow, barren space, the main body of 'This Foundry' is lightly sketched out of sparse skeletal rhythm and snakelike percussion, threatening a dubby groove yet never quite acting on it. Gradually populated by desolate sonic footprints that seem to allude to the ghostly remnants of sound rather than its origins, it is calm and deeply meditative yet driven by an unmistakable undercurrent [...]
