The beginning of this week is fairly light on shows so I decided to take the easy way out and combine Sunday's and Monday's run down it to one amazing little post. Well not that amazing, but there is a great event tonight in DC at the Red and the Black with the Visitations, The Pet Parade, and Rifle Coil. You might just want to stay overnight in DC because that's the place for tomorrow's great show which happens to also be at the Red and the Black . Go back and find that spot you had [...]

Raise Up Roof Beams Harrisburg, PA's Koji on the Roof and Raise Up Roof Beams are set to release a dual EP on June 10, with Colormake Records . The 7" split entitled Eating Lemons/Dinosaur features both bands and comes with an offering of solo tracks from both lead singers, Andrew Shiraki (Koji on the Roof) and Nathan Robinson (Raise Up Roof Beams) as downloadable bonus material. Shows on a Monday? Yep...and good ones too. Down in VA you can catch Middle Distance Runner, Ungdomskulen, and Lady In The Radiator at Jammin' Java . At Johnny Brenda's in Philly you might want to consider chcking out Mahjongg, Get Him Eat Him, and RunRunner. Finally at the Red and the Black in DC there's a great one in The Shackeltons, Raise Up Roofbeams, and Frenemies. Good times. mp3: Middle Distance Runner - That's A Lie --> website --> buy [...]

For those who don't know, which is probably 99% of our readership, I recently moved from a very rural area to a medium-sized city. OK, I don't know if you can even call Harrisburg, Pennsylvania medium-sized. But the point is one of the benefits of living in an urban area is that it's much friendlier for all fans of music. The live music scene is actully pretty strong in H-burg annd one of the great [...]
