In a 405 Exclusive premiere, the Tarn remix of RCSA 's track 'Pretty' is now available as a free download (as well as being streamable too). It's a rather great remix, very emotional and downbeat. Check it out below, and make sure you head to the Notting Hill Arts Club in London (16th May) tonight to see RCSA perform a free show.

It's the turn of electro-pop wizard RCSA to tell us about his influences today. Otherwise known as Ben Mercer and producer OKI, the duo make euphoric but restrained pop songs with slowly building layers, a shed-load of atmospherics and enough heart-melting melodies to shake a stick at. We're expecting big things from them, starting with the brilliant single Captain which is due out next week via Manta Ray Music. Have a listen below and then have a read of Ben' Favourite Five. He even sent us pictures. Top bloke. [...]
Demos from Ben Mercer, aka RCSA ( facebook / twitter ), have been kicking around since last summer - but with Captain, he is finally releasing his debut single. His sound blends nervous electric energy and tropical glimmers, a clash of glitchy electro-pop and dark, hypnotic undertones. There's an urgency to his music that will make you sit up and listen, eyes wide, and keep you on edge. RCSA - Captain will be released on 30th April on Manta Ray Music RCSA - Pretty (demo) [...]

I'm not really sure where to start with this track. We've got a myriad of unique sounds mixed together to create an almost atmospheric background that comes together with a frantic syncopation of beats. I know atmospheric and frantic don't sound like they would go hand and hand. Hell, frantic might not even sound good on it's own... But the two play fantastically together in this song, especially with the layered and effected vocals. One of my favorite tracks of the week so far. Once you've had a chance to listen to "Captain" by rcsa below, [...]

Wow. Just, like wow. Demo material from mysterious rcsa here is sounding amazing. A pleading, begging vocal set against a dank, isolating back-beat make this track nothing but a compelling and deathly addictive mix. I've had it on repeat for the last half an hour or so, as if something has just clicked in the back of my head, I'm sat here longing for more.
