I was going to post this a long time ago but then one way or another it's buried in the depth of unfinished draft post... but here we go, High City Express by Midnight Runners (not to be confused with Midnight Runner . Ha.) As usual they managed to deliver another classy retro track. Can't resist moving my feet a little from that lead synth.
One of the best moments from today, and surely to be on repeat, is the new single from Midnight Runner! After releasing the fantastic "You're Electric" (listen here), this time he makes me cry of happiness with "Lovesomething". Evan Newman is another super talented producer that you definitely will listen more about in the future. [...]

As you can well imagine there's been an influx of Prince edits/remixes/bootlegs since the artist-currently-known-as went on a jaunt down under. I ended up putting them on the back burner, so I've decided to come out of my listening hole and post this simple but good re-edit from Mighty Mouse of "Controversy". Should allow all the dj fans out there to pay homage via a steady, cool-as-a-cucumber mix in/out. • MIGHTY MOUSE [FB] • DOWNLOAD | Prince - Controversy (Mighty Mouse re-edit) Posted by [...]

It's been a pleasure to watch Andrew Elstner make his way from the beginnings of his time in Riddle of Steel to hopping on with the rock juggernaut that is Torche and the creation of this here side project Tilts. I actually think Tilts was formed right before Elstner joined with Torche, which had me worried that all those rockers that I heard on the self-released EP's would fall by wayside and never get the proper treatment they deserved. However, he has found a way to share the time between the two bands with ease. Seeing [...]

As we mentioned yesterday, GvsB II goes down Saturday, July 28, at the esteemed Granada Theater here in Dallas. We are beyond psyched about this year's show, which promises to be the party of the summer thanks to an incredible lineup, featuring Italians Do It Better labelmates Glass Candy + Chromatics, Twin Sister, Taken By Trees, Laurel Halo, and Dallas' own A.Dd+. Here's a mixtape we put together that barely scratches the surface of the bill's collective greatness, but it should help you get acquainted. Check the tracklist after the jump, and if you're into it, you can now purchase [...]
Our friends from Binary are back with a new artist Touch Tone. Following their ideal of introducing new musicians, Andrew Verner is the new name in the spotlight with a brilliant "Home Away From Home." Beautiful night drive soundtrack for summer nights!

As rousing of a listening experience it is to hear Florence + The Machine making its umpteenth go at some sweeping peak of flowery indie-pop bombast, we've long secretly desired for Miss Welch to hook up with a more urban-minded creative to shine on a stronger light on her inner-soul diva leanings. That fantasy boils to the surface on this spellbinding remix to Ceremonials single "Never Let Me Go" by eclectic multi-talent Dev Hynes , who makes over the stately F+M ballad into an old school-flavored R&B [...]
London-based duo Cosmonauts are back with another monthly mix. While being fan of their music I guess I will keep dropping their awesome mixes. I mean, you know that this "the" soundtrack you can't miss. Just clicked play a couple minutes ago and, so far so so good. Tracklisting available soon on their Facebook and [...]

Le Cassette are James Nalepa and Adam Mcnab , an UK-based duo whose work have just recently been under our dreamwave radar. Having known each other since ten years ago at college, they cited their mutual love for French house as what have drive them to produce music together. So far they have two tracks under their belt. You Are You Are is a funky and energetic synth pop track with syncopated synth lines and beats. Their most recent tracks, Tokyo Blues delivers a different mood while still staying consistent [...]
FiNAL DJs are releasing today their very first EP "Gossip Country" via On The Fruit Records. This is really good news for Stuttgart-based duo. I've picked up Justin Faust remix, which gave his natural coolio touch. You can listen the entire EP here and buy it here . Really happy for those guys!

Mornin' Old Sport is the trio of Kate Smeal (vocals, strings), Scott Nanos (guitar, bass, keys, strings), and Jeff Price (drums, production engineering). Together they recreate classic folk music influenced by such musicians as Gene Autry, The Ink Spots, Doris Day and Hank Williams. We previously featured their single, "Katie", a very vintage sounding track. Now the band has released a new single, "When The Bomb". Their self-titled debut album arrives July 10th on Misery Loves Co. Download "When The Bomb" below. Read more »

"Traffic" is the brand new EP from A.N.D.Y. & Vicente via D.I.S.C.O.Texas. If there were any doubts about Andy's talent, I think that we all have to agree that he's a genius. No kidding. His latest remixes are pure gold. Let's just take a quick look. We have remixes for Philosophy of Sound's "Freedom, what [...]
Incredibly good is this "Supermoon" from the Dutch duo Kraver. This track is a mixture of 802s sounds with nu disco, resulting into some kind of dreamy, smooth and retro music. This single is also remixed by a newcomer NSFW which will also present us in the future remixes for Drop Out Orchestra, Peter & [...]

The difficult thing about reviewing reviewing the new album from Best Coast, The ONly Place, is that it is totally immaculately and fun and sunny. Singer Bethany Cosentino has crafted eleven solidly middleweight songs, each supported by the solid instrumental work of her talented-yet-shadowy bandmate Bobb Bruno and the hallmark gutbucket punch of producer Jon Brion. The Only Place is an effortlessly pleasurable listen; the most common references for the band's sound are the Beach Boys and Fleetwood Mac, which more or less captures Best Coast's obvious grasp of pop songwriting. Cosentino hits all the sweet spots, and the listener [...]

We previously offered a stream of Craft Spells' synthesizer worshiping single, " Still Left With Me ". Well, if you're not satisfied by just one song, listen to the full Gallery EP that releases next week (May 15th). Read more »
