It always warms my heart to show people examples of how kick ass our local music scene is. San Francisco's Realboy has been one of our best kept secrets for years. But with the release of his first full non-free release, Cable Basics, it's only a matter of time before he moves to LA, forgets about us all and Will.i.am gets caught stealing his tracks. With a debut as huge as this, the kid is guaranteed to go far. If hipster points count for anything, I would just like to say that I heard about him before everyone else [...]

Like many of our guest mixes, the mix we have for you guys today displays immense talent for the most part unseen. Still to this day one of the most underrated in all of the US' "EDM" scene, San Francisco's Austin Dennis Jacobsen or Realboy has shown us tremendous talent and evolution of style over the past couple years. One of my very first articles for Get Lifted Tonight was a showcase on the producer and I am happy to say we will be able to be sponsoring an exclusive mix from him today. Creating grimey uncut electro [...]

<p&a mp;gt;&amp ;amp;lt;p& amp;amp;gt;&am p;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;a href=" http://realboys.bandcamp.com/a lbum/real-boys-ep"& ;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;RE AL BOYS EP by Real Boys&a mp;amp;amp;lt;/a&a mp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;& ;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/p &g t;</p&a mp;gt; I've been a pretty big fan of the Canadian band Oh No! Yoko for well over a year now and often check to see if they have released any new music which often leaves me feeling sad that they haven't but recently I came across a side project form lead singer Everett Morris. Real Boys is just the thing I was looking for and I really don't know how it's taken me this long to discover them (2 months in blog world equates [...]
Travis Peterson ha realizzato il video di Real Boy e Drive On - due brani dal nuovo album di La Sera - dove troviamo Katy Goodman nel ruolo di sè stessa e del suo doppione cattivo e dai capelli neri.

Although Abbotsford was once the murder capital of Canada, within its geographical confines rests a slew of up-and-coming musical talent. For example, over the past twelve months we’ve seen Oh No! Yoko rise from high school band class to the top of Winnie Cooper’s favorite albums of 2011. And I’m fairly certain that the Real Boys will be the next big thing to come out of the Fraser Valley. Real Boys are a rock-pop supergroup that features members from You Say Party! We Say Die!, On No! Yoko, and GSTS! Their self-titled debut EP was released in [...]

So we typically toss a video onto a post when highlighting a new band or a show preview or something and let you draw your own conclusion about it. Sometimes we throw a change-up... strike that - let’s call it a round up. Most of these videos are of bands we have previously talked about here on Draw Us Lines, so we won’t be telling you much about those bands themselves, just some musings that really aren’t worth a damn. If a picture is worth 1000 words, then a video must be worth a million. Hold on to your hats! [...]
La Sera's video for "Real Boy/Drive On" gives a taste of two songs and two very different but equally as strange plots.
Katy Goodman of the Vivian Girls returns with her sophomore solo attempt with some lovely results. While the Vivian Girls are known for jangly garage-rock with a heavy emphasis on harmonizing, Goodman’s intent as La Sera seems to be more pensive and personal. Goodman’s voice floats between sounding like Jenny Lewis and Zooey Deschanel but is devoid of any flirty quirks, giving her a more concretely stable delivery. “Sees The Light” subtly provides a variety [...]
Our little honey's from Oh No! Yoko teamed up with Stephen O'Shea from You Say Party and made Real Boys . Check their Facebook for more info on a Western Canadian tour and enjoy their single " Vacation " from their self-titled EP. Real Boys - Vacation Posted by John
Here’s another shot bright, punkish indie rock from Vancouver's Real Boys , who put out their self-titled, debut EP this past Tuesday. I'm not sure there's much more to say about these guys that I haven't already; when I spoke of their lead single "Vacation" a couple weeks ago, I made mention that the all-out 'fun-ness' (for lack of a better word) of the track was hopefully indicative of what we could expect across the full record. These boys certainly deliver it in spades, pairing their light-hearted spirit and energy with just the right amount of edge. [...]
Katy Goodman never ceases to amaze. Here's two videos in one from La Sera 's album Sees the Light - Real Boy/Drive On. Enjoy!

Assista!
And the LA SERA makes one video for two of her single, REAL BOY and DRIVE ON . And then when you're done with the cutesy circus-based puppy love video meets the grindhouse noir thang you should check out me interview with the VIVIAN GIRLS.
Check out La Sera 's new video-within-a-video featuring two songs of her upcoming new album Sees The Light . The colourful " Real Boy " is about a trapeze artist's love to a brawny circus man. " Drive On " is in b/w and comes very noir grindhouse. Directed by Travis Peterson. via La Sera - Facebook

By Jon Herriot As soon as I knew some of the Oh No! Yoko guys were involved in Real Boys, I knew that this music was going to be a riot. (After typing this, I realized the first track was titled 'Shitshow'). With members of You Say Party, and GSTS, this is a British Columbia supergroup. A couple of shredding guitars lead this band, backed with some solid rhythm and bass. 'Vacation' is the one that really gets me grooving. Whoa, 'Wilderness' just [...]
In a little over a year, the San Francisco based Our House Records has assembled a team of some of the city's most exciting young and talented producer/DJ duos. Their newest release, Our House Records Volume 1, featuring a song from each of their 3 artists, proves these guys mean business. Realboy My favorite part about OHR's artists, especially Realboy, is that they aren't afraid to go deeper into music theory then dance music artists are expected to. Unlike a lot of other producers, Realboy spends just as much energy saying something [...]
It seems like for every week that I'm able to get posts up daily, there's another week where I'm lucky if I even get one up. This is one of those weeks, so you can expect posts to crop up at odds times (or not at all, in yesterday's case) and run at odd lengths. Sorry about that, but things should equalize themselves out a bit more going forward. I’ve also been meaning to find time to talk about how members of You Say Party , Oh No! Yoko and GSTS! have come together sometime last year to form a brand [...]

(Jayme Lang) Quick, what's the first thing you think of when you hear the words, "Abbotsford, B.C."? For me it's always been You Say Party , but I can now add Real Boys to the list. The band formed in early 2011 as a side project for lead singer Everett Morris' songwriting (Morris being a member of Abbotsford-based band Oh No! Yoko ), and from there spun forth with gusto. "Vacation" is full of big melodies, twin guitar attacks, and a crapload of sun-kissed summer fun, [...]

As I recently wrote about for Exclaim! , members of You Say Party , Oh No! Yoko and GSTS! formed a new band called Real Boys . Listen to the perky, pop rocking, rather ON!Y-sounding single "Vacation" below. VACATION - STUDIO by Real Boys
