The Real McCoy - " Run Away " What a funny band name: "The Real McCoy". In other words, The Genuine Article, The Real Deal. That's funny because if you read Wikipedia , you'll know that the German group only scored their international hits in 1994 after producer Clive Davis tried to repeat the success of Ace of Base. I mean, nothing screams pop-authenticity like Ace of Base: The Second Coming, right?! Then again, it's been 16 years since the band's heyday and we're still trying to figure out what it means [...]
Agggggh hello all. I apologize for the lack of posts lately. I'd like to say I've been busy but I really haven't. Take these amazing old-school house tracks as my apology. :D Let's take a trip back to *checks Discogs* 1988... Information Society - Lay All Your Love On Me (Restricted Mix) [click to download] Yes, ABBA covers are cheesy as all hell, but the synthwork on here is acid beyond belief. This is closer [...]
With the vocal intonation of Jim Reid and the beats similar to those of the early 90s dance music ( The Real McCoy anyone?), Diamond Rings delivers another aurally and visually amazing song in the form of "Wait And See". After watching this Im even more excited he is playing our mega-tubular-bogus- Shake Some Action SXSW Party , we are all in for a great performance, Im 120% sure of it. [via p4ktv )

Certain songs are made to be soundtrack, its plain to see from the bounce of the dude with the Ipod plugged into his ears. I mean one day I want one made for myself, I think I would have Vangelis make mine or resurrect Bach to write me a violent one. I know everyone has a song they strut to and this one was definite one of them for me. I will write my list of sound tracked moments to Real McCoy 's Runaway. 1. I Runaway-ed, strutting down my [...]
I was talking with a co-worker last week about this series and thought it might be a good time to post another one of these. "The Impression That I Get" is the Bosstones one foray into mainstream exposure but a damn fine song as well. And this series wouldn't be complete without that awful Divinyls song, right? You know it's true. If you want more awesome (or not so awesome) songs from the 90's, just find "1990's" in the drop down category list on the sidebar to find all the other posts in this series or just [...]

Ive got mixed feelings on this post as after over a year of Versus 90's posts this is going to be the last one ever! The good news is that we will be continuing it at our new blog so stay tuned as we got something special under wraps. We've put together an extra big post for all our Versus fans, thanks for the support and stay tuned! Dj Mike B of Banana Split fame has a great blog that I wanted to let you know about. He has [...]

More madness out of CHICAGO with some of my favorite kids to party with in town, BEATKIDS . These two throw some of the sickest house parties in CHICAGO (even though busted by the cops everytime). It's always a madhouse with DJs playing through the shittiest PA's, but it's part of the brilliance. These two have been working on their own jams for a while, and while they are still young, i have a feeling they'll soon be making appearence outside of their living room. GUNS'N'BOMBS - NOTHING IS GETTING US ANYWHERE [...]

So I've been wanting to rep these boys for a while now, but due to new up and coming business relations I've been a little lazy with posting. Beatkids are another example of amazing new artists emerging from Chicago! These guys are bringing back 90's rave in an entirely new way. I never would have though that I was going to get re-addicted to Real McCoy! Go to their myspace and add them asap and download every track you can form their site. [...]
