The Beach Boys harmonized about having "Fun, Fun, Fun". Cyndi Lauper insisted that "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". Now, an Atlanta duo wants audiences to climb into that giant colorful teacup at the park and take a spin through 'Hey! Hey!' (Decca), the unabashedly upbeat debut album from The Love Willows – a.k.a. singer Hope Partlow and guitarist/vocalist Ryan Wilson – due for release January 27th, 2009. Watch The Love Willows video (EPK): 'Hey! Hey!', with all [...]

For a while, I've been holding a guarded optimism on the chance of Barack Obama becoming President and what would happen if he was elected. But tonight, I'm ready to be excited. Good job America. You did it. James Brown - Funky President ( Buy It ) posted by Adam

Last Tuesday (9/9/08), Wednesday Records released the latest offering from Evansville, Indiana's Mock Orange [ Official Site , Myspace ], Captain Love . The album was produced in Nashville with producer Jeremy Ferguson (Be Your Own Pet, Josh Rouse), and the record picks up where 2004's Mind Is Not Brain left off and according to some early reviews, might just be Mock Orange's most sophisticated release to date. Tourdates, mp3s and more "after the jump" [...]

Each week, dozens of songs and albums from up-and-coming (or just plain unknown) bands debut on the world's music charts. Some of these bands will never be heard from again; some may become the next little thing. That's why we have Chuck Eddy exploring the world beyond the Billboard 200, where he'll look for diamonds in the MySpace rough. This week out, he tackles new R & B, a few rock bands whose names seem like word jumbles, someone from the most recent season of The Real World , and a singer who dreams of winning [...]

"Here we go again. That report that Real World Brooklyn was going to be filming in Carroll Gardens after all? Never mind. It turns out that Real World turned down the building (again) last week because "it didn't make logistical sense" to either the producers or the developer And, now, just into the inbox the brand new Real World news/rumor: It's going to be Red Hook . Per an email with the subject line "Real Whirrled Confirmed": Construction of a make-shift apartment has begun on the upstairs end of Pier-41 (204 Van Dyke Street) as of last [...]

Shit's about to get really real in here. (Gabriel Hernandez) Like, OMG, guys! This is big! Not quite Forever the Sickest Kids getting played on The Hills , but still... Anyway, on this week's season finale to MTV's The Real World: Hollywood (which, between you and me, is easily the worst season of the show ever) Dallas' own Militia Group-signed indie rock act The New Frontiers had its song "The Day You Fell Apart" used in the background. And it [...]

I was sitting on the couch watching America's Best Dance Crew (because yes, it is ACTUALLY an amazing show) and a commercial came on for Real World's new season: HOLLYWOOD. It's gonna be like a bunk version of The Hills where they go to clubs with names like Seduxion or Velvet and drink on sundays at Barnyard Pete's Farmhouse Brewery. These are not the unstable, crazy, dirty, intelligible people who once were on the show...WAY back when. I'd say it stopped with the 7th season, Seattle.SO [...]

I have said it before and i will say say it again, all blonde girls look the same. I have been sort-of-watching the Real World here and there since the season began. LIKE, when it comes on, i turn the tv up and continue making dinner or writing emails or tweezing my eyebrows. All of a sudden last night, i look up at the tv and see two spray tan blonde girls, in push-up bas, with horrible blonde weaves in the same shot. Until this second, i was only aware of one. [...]
