Brand spankin' new Damn Terran track for your Saturday afternoon. Perhaps the best track to lose your absolute shit too. Raucous as fuck. You may well recognise the female voice, as it's that of Ali E who we've written about in the past. The new track is called Rebels and the guys are getting it out there [...]
Valencia-based Maceo Plex is riding a wave of amazing releases over the last 12 months - not that we've been paying attention - but this ends today with his next release 'Frisky' on Cross Town Rebels. Maceo has a unique ability to weave house, disco and funk in a way that is both reassuring familiar and exciting.

A classically trained, eccentrically expressive musician, visualist, and producer; Ari Bazoulian joins the Rebel catalog with an exquisitely cut, four-piece EP. LA-based Cliff Dweller , a sonic and visual project by Ari Bazoulian and friends, announces the release of their Perch Verdad EP on Rebel. Combining analog and digital, art and music, and organic and electronic, the five-track EP-including a remix from hotly tipped Baltimore beatmaker Ricky Eat Acid -truly fuses the best of both creative worlds for the aesthetically-minded listener. A classically trained violist, multi instrumentalist and music producer, Bazoulian isn't [...]

Rebel Podcast: Pregnant Sacramento-based pop experimentalist Daniel Trudeau of Pregnant has crafted a lovely mix of thoughtful tracks for our latest podcast. Trudeau includes the devastatingly beautiful "Dig" from the late Arthur Russell along with punk's influential Crass and a few of today's up and coming electronic artists. We can't help but to relate Pregnant's distinctive sound to his eclectic music taste. Listen to Pregnant's discography here , and read an interview feature we did with him in the memorable past. Tracklisting 01. I Couldn't Say [...]
Genre: Tech House. Rebel EP released by Highgrade Disharmonic Orchestra on Highgrade Records, includes 2 tracks.

Culture shock lives within RaMell Ross ' photographs. The photographer's home is in Greensboro, Alabama where he captures it's intimate community of people and their introspective interactions with their environment. This is art that is rarely depicted in today's contemporary photography field. Ross brings a rare perspective to the table through his fascination of documenting an atypical portrait or landscape. With Ross' talent of positioning his subjects, the photographer isn't afraid to experiment with lighting and color in order to create an image that he is completely satisfied with. Hi Ramell, how are you [...]
![Tunk ft. Laconda Davies – Rebel [Music]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3870042_lg.jpg)
Tunk, Tunk, Tunk. This track from start to finish is straight fire. I really can't elaborate any more than that, because that's what it is. Tunk has been hard at work in the studio working on his No Defeat EP , scheduled to launch some time this month. Whatever he's doing in there, he needs to stay in there if he's going to crank out tracks like this. Flawless production by Chizzy and a beautiful vocal feature by Laconda Davies , Tunk [...]

Zoom lens label owner Garrett Yim creates emotive pop music under the name Meishi Smile . "Pale", his newest single is a particularly rhythmic track "inspired by girls on the Internet". What amazes us is Yim's patience and hard work - he spends a great deal of time crafting each and every song making sure it sounds exactly like what he envisioned. With that said, his music evokes a rush of indescribable feelings original to each song he writes. "Pale" will be featured on a future compilation we will be releasing, more info coming soon.

Rebel Podcast: Ricky Eat Acid Baltimore-based experimentalist Ricky Eat Acid (birthed Sam Ray) has quickly become a common name around the Rebel office. This may be in-part due to the young producer's metamorphosis of genres, keen interpretation of pop music, unorthodox method of production, or merely the fact that he's only 20 years of age. Whatever it may be, we don't want "it" to leave anytime soon, so we've brought Sam into the Rebel family and have inaugurated him with his very own podcast - just 20 tracks short. Tracklisting 01. Heroes of the Microphone - Blanche Blanche Blanche: [...]

![[Introducing] – Canopies](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3779175_lg.jpg)
Tweet When I contacted Canopies about featuring them on this site I asked them for what they might consider some of their influences; they divided these into two groups: musical and non-musical. The former showed a musically well-versed and (culturally) diverse band with the likes of Brian Eno , the Davids ( Bowie and Byrne ), Yellow Magic Orchestra and Fela Kuti as strong stepping-stones. The latter did nothing but help further that image, with influences including (but not limited to, [...]

From Hawaii to Japan to the United States, Dustin Wong has had quite an episodic childhood; learning English and forgetting it as his family and he relocated to Japan at the age of two, having to re-learn English and joining a punk band in his early teens contrasting the oppressive conditions of Catholic school, Dustin surely went through some turmoil. In 2008 he started the quintet Ponytail with friends from art school. In 2010, after many performances and two albums worth of songs, the band announced their perfomance at Whartscape that year may be their last. The individual endeavors of [...]

Rebels To The Grain - We Takin' This Rebels To The Grain - Vinyl (Let the Record Spin) I met these brothers (Cheddy & MP) for the first time over at the Pharoahe Monch show in Pomona a few months back, and they shot me their album to check out. I've been knowing about them through their Breakbeats & Rhymes radio station, but seeing them on stage rocking the crowd moments before Pharoahe went on... made me a believer. I remember looking for the CD a few days later, [...]
