Yet it's fair to wonder if the skills that earned him the distinction are just as sharp some 25 years after he began to crater the earth in the shape of electro and techno. To be honest, his 2010 single as Model 500, OFI/Huesca , [...]

[ Rush Hour Recordings ] It seems having Rush Hour reissue some of his earliest tracks in 2010 was the shot in the arm Recloose needed to return to releasing original material. The New Zealand-based producer born Matthew Chicoine had been largely silent on that front since 20082s Perfect Timing album for Sonar Kollektiv, with only the occasional remix in the interim. 20112s Saturday Night Manifesto E.P. found [...]

Staying on the 'mysterious musician' theme that kicked off yesterday with The Weeknd's new release , here's a little somethin' somethin' in the boogie lane from the one called Frank Booker. If you're not familiar with our man Frank, he's a DJ and producer based in my new home of Auckland City. Frank's released a few tasty slabs of wax through labels such as Untracked Recordings from the UK and Wonderful Noise in Japan. He's also got a few other projects in the oven currently, as well as playing [...]
Next up, the mighty jackin' house producer Dj Kool Dek!

Image by Conor & David [ Rush Hour Recordings ] Save for his steady stream of remix work, it's been almost three years since we last heard new material from Recloose. So it's welcoming, then, that his return on Rush Hour shows the producer functioning at a typically high creative point. There has always been a playful side to Matt Chicoine [...]

Everybody's all "oh, it was amazing" on their shaky return from this years Electric Elephant blowout in Croatia. Next year we will attend, or I hope we will anyway. Like a big Detroit ibuprofen, here's a summer cut that will ease those post-Petrcane blues. Don't forget about our party on Saturday, we'll be playing this sort of drug-jazz. Details here . The city of Detroit was heavily represented on Dennis Coffey's latest album in the form of guest appearances from Mayer Hawthorne, Mick Collins of The Dirtbombs, Rachel Nagy of The Detroit Cobras, and more. An equally vibrant array of Motor City talent from the rich electronic community will be showcased on a forthcoming collection of remixes of tracks from the album. For now, check out a radical re-interpretation from beat head and accomplished drummer Shigeto, whose take on "All Your Goodies Are Gone" infects the track with a skittering bounce somewhere between garage house and Dilla-esque hip-hop. The full remix [...]
Detroit producer releases cracking new EP on climbing Amsterdam-based label...

In addition to introducing the world to drum'n'bass and creating the Detroit Electronic Music Festival , Carl Craig somehow found time to start a label that has now been releasing classic house music for twenty years. From the driving minimal tech of Paperclip People's Clear & Present to the acidic jungle vibes of Recloose's Can't Take It , Planet E Communications has been home to some of the best sounds in recent memory. 20 F@#&ING Years Of Planet E: We Ain't Dead Yet , [...]

By J**** S**He probably doesn't know it until now, but Recloose was just one of those artists that left his linger and his musical scent permeating inside my subconscious for quite some time now after friends of mines were djing out his tunes from his debut Hiatus on the Horizon which I absolutely love to bits especially 'Dust' and 'Mana's Bounce.'Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Recloose moved

Released March 2008 Recloose - Perfect timing is a well diverse album exploring the disco/boogie, electronic funk rage that seem to be sweeping the nation. Think funk anthems blasting through dirty party scenes. Think slow jams for reclining. RECLOOSE - ROBOP 2008
