The Great Escape festival in Brighton started 2 days before my first history exam this summer, hence the delayed write up. Taking a welcome night off from books notes and drudgery, I headed out into Brighton for Mud Hut's night at the Latest Music bar. With a host of other great acts playing on the night, it was set to be a great night. An ulterior motive though was to have meet and interview the guys from RedTrack who luckily for us were on last. As one of the first bands we ever posted on, and a personal favourite of [...]

Con ese rock pegajoso que los ha caracterizado, el grupo Redtrack presentan su segundo sencillo titulado The Trier. Share on Facebook
Self-described as sounding like a cross between Girls Aloud and the Clash , a newish band dubbed Redtrack offer more than a quick fix of pop and thrash-around punk tunes. Indeed, their recently released album, 'Whole Town's Heart', seems to bleed a little something for everyone. The problem, however, may well lie in convincing the global airwaves that the band's songs dig a little deeper than what their topics convey. After all, many of the album's subjects reference the everyday – and what some may consider to be cliché [...]

'The Trier' is the second single to be lifted from their debut album 'Whole Town's Heart' which was released on the 13th September and was also Label Fandango's first album release. These local lads from Southend in Essex are just getting so much slicker. The three minute Indie-Punk 45 becomes eloquently essembled to perfection, a mere sprinkling of suggestive Pop glamour and New Wave anti-performance pushes Redtrack one more step in the upwards direction. Grab the debut album, we`ve been making noise about Redtrack for what seems like ages now - Well worth a [...]

Redtrack consist of Billy Wright (guitar / vox), Phil Blake (bass / vox), Mitch Silvey (guitar / vox / keys) and Andrew Perry (drums). They come from Southend-On-Sea, their bass player has survived an attack with a meat cleaver and they reckon they sound like a cross between Girls Aloud and The Clash. Whole Town's Heart is their debut album and will be released in early September. It is chewy and tuneful and, with its small-town panic attacks and punchy new wave melodic jabs, sees them nodding towards classic Britpopesque heritage. [...]
via Southend-On-Sea we got a new avi from the REDTRACK whom according to their biog "sound like a cross between Girls Aloud and The Clash" which we might don't agree with. ps erections come via the RAUL MIRANDA wotyougot

"Redtrack consist of Billy Wright (guitar/vox), Phil Blake (bass/vox), Mitch Silvey (guitar/vox/keys) and Andrew Perry (drums). They come from Southend-On-Sea, Essex, UK. Their bass player has survived an attack with a meat cleaver and they reckon they sound like a cross between Girls Aloud and The Clash". Redtrack have been developing their riotous New Wave revolution for a number of years now, mutilated power chords and art-indie torch bearing remains second nature while the legendary live shows have become frantic fast-paced get together`s. The excitement generated when the Southend foursome come to town is tremendous, [...]

I've been sitting on talking about this four-piece from Southend-on-Sea for a few weeks, hoping to get an mp3 cleared to post, and here we have two. Perfectly Fine Intellectual (video below) is Redtrack 's fourth single to be released prior to their debut full length Whole Town's Heart dropping on August 12th on Fandango (a previously singles-only offshoot of the wonderful Fierce Panda ). They produce catchy, danceable pop-punk with tight drums and new-wave riffs and have appeared on Hollyoaks - but there's no reason to hold that against them. There are enough [...]

Sorry about no mixtape last week - I got swamped with weekend activities and was scrambling to catch up with the real world for the rest of the week. No excuses, right? Back on track, I promise. As always, there's a mix of stuff in here that was given to me by PR contacts, material direct from the band's themselves and some stuff that was buzzing around on other blogs that I was super stoked to find. I usually bop to this great stuff every morning while I walk to the train with a piece [...]

trust me as far as you can throw me and i promise ♫ Redtrack - Perfectly Fine Intellectual Because today is a good day for some sharp and snotty Brit-pop. Redtrack are from Essex, England and these 4 Brits recently won some "battle of the bands" to appear on some teen (?) show called Hollyoaks . Never heard of it. But anyway, hopefully it got them some attention cause right now I am digging these ripping guitars and popping drums. I could definitely do some driving to this jam right [...]

Tyvek seem to thrive at being musically laid bare, I have visions of the band roaming the streets somewhere around Michigan and stealing their instruments from an unlocked van nearby. Things do seem to rattle along nicely on the self titled debut album, obscure guitar riffs and relentless rhythms give you the distinct impression the band have absolutely no control over the monster they have created. Uncrafted but intriguingly raw US Punk splashed with Cale`s Velvet Underground without the blonde idiot. "Tyvek will be packing up and continuing to tour extensively in North America and [...]

Lets start the campaign early this year, abolish the company Christmas party and help stamp out the embarrassing annual works get together. Last year we tried a gig a day during December on more of a local level, obviously some of the shows below are slightly further afield so we`ll thankfully rely on our international friends to rock those venues. Support live music, go along to a show and maybe buy a T-Shirt, it`s the way forward and surely giving more power and control to artists is an added bonus. 1st Dec... [...]

Southend-On-Sea, famous for it`s coastal pier and seaside entertainment, not the English Rivera by all means, but hey ! the town does have some very notable New Wave/Punk history. For myself in the early eighties Southend was always easier than London for live music, no public transport disasters and an array of quality bands that would be playing London venues the next weekend anyway. Redtra ck seem to provoke nos [...]
