Even If I By Reed KD Album: The Ashes Bloom Label: Dirty Laundry Records Genre: songwriter pop Tags: elliot smith, songwriter Download : MP3 Audio The Reed KD I heard on MySpace sounds more of a traditionally collegiate bluegrass-tinged, singer/songwriter pop w/ occasional electronic blips - than the tracks I'm showing here. Reed KD is the less island and more folk version of Jack Johnson happiness music. With the harmonica and upbeat sprinkles of a tambourine; he could write about running over your foot and make it sound good in a song. =o) Hmmm, when I listen and I think about describing it I find myself thinking about glitter. When I was a little girl I fancying myself a drug-free hippie and my teachers all said I was a flower child. I enjoyed that. This music would have been my theme music. The album will be released on Dirty Laundry Records. The two tracks posted below, "Empty Bottles" and "Even [...]
reed kd , a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from nearby santa cruz, loves him some sunny, '60's style harmonies. and like cornbread , there ain't nothing wrong with that. the three songs below, off his debut lp, the ashes bloom , a self-produced effort, recall, in places, with their high, soft vocals, something photocopied out of the elliott smith catalogue: not quite there, a bit grainy or washed out in places for the effort, but still able to impress in its own right. reed kd - empty bottles [...]

But the line, "we'll never be seventeen", is so simple and so heartbreaking. Time doesn't stand still for anyone - everyone has to grow up at some stage. Thankfully, my time is not now. [...]
