For a place called the "Music Hall," the Kansas City venue rarely sees a live band performance (it usually hosts theater productions). It's a pity that it doesn't pursue musicians more because it was the perfect setting for the Regina Spektor and Only Son concert. Soft lights wrapped around the performers, leaving them in a bit of a glow. Wonderful acoustics helped carry the sound flawlessly all the way into the upper corners of the balcony. For a performance whose headliner featured a grand piano, this almost felt more like a classical recital than an alternative [...]
Nashville's the kind of town where infamous events are kinda' commonplace. Stuff of legend happens on the regular and it's often pretty bizarre. Ryan Adams throws out a drunken heckler for demanding he play “Summer of '69” (not cool, bro), John Mayer makes a tearful apology to his bandmates at Bridgestone Arena for his racist(?) remarks in an ill-advised Playboy interview (really not cool, bro), Shaun White trashes a hotel room (wait, you're not a rockstar). And in 2007, sweet Regina Spektor collapsed from vertigo resulting from the mother of all ear [...]
The Music Hall, inside Municipal Auditorium, is one of Kansas City's loveliest, richest, oldest (built in 1935), and most underutilized music venues. I've seen musical theater performed in the space, but last night was the first time I've seen a modern concert there.… [ Read more ] [ Subscribe to the comments on this story ]
I've always thought of Regina Spektor as the Norah Jones of indie rock, but that's not really fair to either of them. For one, Spektor doesn't play indie rock; her fans just tend to be indie-rock types.… [ Read more ] [ Subscribe to the comments on this story ]

What more can I say about Regina Spektor that has not yet already been said. A beautiful voice with equally pleasing piano panderings are what we have come to expect from the lovely singer/songwriter. "How," is a heartfelt, and somewhat heart-wrenching, love ballad of longing. Haven't we all let someone go we wished we hadn't? Spektor muses on the prospect of bouncing back while director Margo Weathers juxtaposes close-ups of Spektor with floating visual metaphors. Black and white wraps it up nicely with an appropriate lack of color one feels when they've lost someone despite all of their [...]
Novo clipe da Regina Spektor , que tem uma voz linda, mas às vezes músicas bem chatas :) Posts relacionados: [Álbum] "Far", Regina Spektor [Video] "Don't leave me (Ne me quitte pas)", Regina Spektor [Video] "Call your girlfriend", [...]

When I was about twelve, I went through a huge phase where all I would listen to for months was Regina Spektor. There was something about how she could utilize her piano playing skills and combine it with her voice into a pop song. So when I headed to The Sony Centre in Toronto on Thursday, October, 11th to see Regina for my first time I was stoked. Before the show I even got to meet her and get her to sign my ticket which was really rad. Once the show started she came out on stage along [...]

Regina Spektor's official music video for "How," is from her new album "What We Saw From The Cheap Seats." Lovely ballad and sung with so much love and emotion. Good to see talented artists working for major labels. One of the slickest looking video, I've seen all year.
Regina Spektor's recent videos for " All The Rowboats " and " Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas) " were quirky, fun affairs. But despite flashes of old-timey animation and a scene where she appears to be wearing butterfly wings, Spektor's new video for the breakup-driven piano-ballad "How" is something else entirely. It's a calm and sincere moving portrait of Spektor, the camera worshipping at her feet and switching back and forth between lush color and even lusher black-and-white. Margo Weathers directs; watch it below. Read More...
We've had quite a while to indulge ourselves on Regina Spektor 's What We Saw from the Cheap Seats yet the ballad in the form of "How" is as beautiful as ever. Add to that a sleek looking video in which Regina takes centre stage for the subtle vid in just a couple of outfits and you've got yourself some perfect easy morning viewing. I particularly like the cotton wool looking clouds. Enjoy it at the top. What We Saw from the Cheap Seats is out now and you [...]

Tras acabar su gira europea, Regina Spektor sigue presentando en vivo su último disco de estudio, What We Saw from the Cheap Seats .
