Australian natives, Regurgitator is a band that can rock hard. Formed in 1994, these men have been around and toured numerous countries including Beijing, China. Their music has a divergent taste from Beastie Boys to Blink 182 . With years of experience, Regurgitator finished a new album back in August titled SuperHappyFunTimesFriends . The music video below is for track, "No Show". It is a spiced remix of a classic Japanese monster film from the 60s. There are wacky colors and doodles to go with the vintage creatures. Lyrically, the song is [...]

Turnpike Glow is a Italian rock outfit currently residing in the UK who are prepping for a release in 2012. They self-exiled themselves to work on their music. If you dig that space-rock stylings of Phoenix this should be right your alley. The Turn The Pike And The Glow MP3 Sunny Guy MP3 by Paul Brill from Breezy as follow-up to Harpooner (2006).This guy has been a studio guy for some time working with much rock royalty. A modern [...]
They have a wikipedia, yet this is a band that needs more fans, especially with the quality of music they are releasing! Regurgitator formed in 1994, but I only recently heard of them with their submission of their latest album, SuperHappyFunTimesFriends (DO WNLOAD), a mix of alternative tracks which can't quite be put into a genre, which is [...]

It's hard to believe it's been 15 years since Regurgitator released Tu-Plang , the largely experimental album that fused elements of techno, dub and surf rock. The pioneering indie rock band from Melbourne continue this trend with their latest release, SuperHappyFuntimesFriends . It's not genre hopping per se, but using a palette from which punchy, often times, cheeky, indie rock is formed. The boys excel at creating quick catchy indie rock (e.g., One Day , No Show , Born Dumb ), but it's the subtle experimentation we love. Outer Space sounds like an indie [...]

Our Australian friends have been extremely busy since we last featured Regurgitator on the Lovley Hearts Club. They recently put out a hilariously diverse album, Superhappyfuntimesfriends, on just about any format you could ask for, including playbuttons, vinyl, CD's and tapes. Maybe after 17 years of being awesome they have decided to just do whatever they please because this album ranges from 802s-Wild Nothing-esque to the Beatles to "99 Problems" in a matter of seconds. The fans aren't mad about it either because the August/September national tour had SOLD OUT shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Geelong, Hobart, Adelaide and Perth. [...]

In this edition: Pallers is on the radar, Regurgitator has your summer fun, news from around the blogosphere, and videos! On the Radar: Pallers The ambient electropop of Pallers is gripping. Pallers are long-time friends, Henrik Martenson and Johan Angergard, who hail from the same town in Sweden. The pair combine elements of electronica, down-tempo, trip hop, and 802s synthpop to create atmospheric tracks where vocals are texture as much as they are lyrical expression. Their new LP, The Sea of Memories, [...]

Regurgitator were easily one of the most important bands of my teens. Even if it was only one album I truly got into. That album was of course Unit. I remember buying it with my Mum (i was hardcore) - I would have been 13. I don't think mum noticed the 18+ sticker on the [...]

Looks like Noisia is back at it with a new dnb track, but this time with German producers Florian Harres and Nicolas Ruoff, aka Phace. This new collaboration brings with it one of the most complex, intricate, and dirty drum'n'bass tracks I've heard. Program (or Programme in the UK) brings dubstep-worthy wobbles, complex metallic percussive elements and a creepy organ line, making this track into one of the darkest, heaviest dnb tracks so far this year. As Friction said on his Shogun Audio [...]

I think I've tired the Archer theme, which means it's time for a new post theme. I could do like cool paintings or some shit, or pick another tv show, but I dunno! I've just started a full time job basically, so my time has schedule is much less concerned with thinking about the blog. But I'm still uploading each post over night and posting before work becuase I love you, I love you all so very very much. In other news, we're are almost done mastering our French/Disco House EP. We dropped two [...]

Way back during the formative period of the Paper Crane Collective, I signed on to feature a monthly mix called Something for Later . The name of the mix came from a folder I use for tracks that didn't quite make it into the Dadada's monthly mix ( Blogophilia ) or something that was a little unusual deemed for a different kind of mix. Well, my hard drive is full of mp3s in folders marked Something For Later . Making a mix from these folders was an easy decision. This month's mix features tracks posted to our blogs and others [...]
Last year, thanks to Philadelphia Grand Jury and the Paper Scissors , I was convinced Australia was yet another untapped, rich musical resource that was just waiting to be discovered. (And I'm not just talking about the Temper Trap 's quick rise to fame when I say this.) Sounds Like Brisbane is a collective of labels from that Western town in Australia that have chosen to band together for marketing and promotional efforts, with the main goal of getting music out to the masses. Just like with [...]

Brisbane is located on Australia's Gold Coast. Brisbane was also devastated by the recent floods this winter. It's on the recovery, thanks to the hearty spirit of its residents. The southeast Queensland city is also a treasure trove for indie music, and you can explore it on the FREE compilation, Sounds Like Brisbane . This is a rich and diverse collection of artists who currently dominate Brisbane's music scene. There's something for everyone-hip hop, indie pop, rock, punk, soul, folk, electronica, and so much more. Check out: I Heart Hiroshima - Washed [...]
